Many people are not aware that the Comcast router they are renting is also a Comcast Public Hotspot. Their Comcast router is a public hotspot for anyone who wants to use it.
This is true but it's a separate network and not everyone can use it. They have to sign in with their Comcast username and password so if it's used for illegal purposes it will still trace back to them. I think there is an option to turn it off if you want.
