Has anyone found out how to disable or adjust the Windows 11 scrollbar animation when you hover over it?
There is quite a large difference in the width between hover and no hover.
I'd prefer minimal animation. A bit like Edge browser, for example. It only has minimal animation and the width barely changes.

It's annoying as hell. I think Microsoft put it there to annoy people. It doesn't serve any other purpose.

I have found both @Brink's solution works (except in Windows store apps) as does mine to enlarge size of scroll bars. If you use Wintools, it changes the exact same registry entries as are referred to in the tutorial.

Windows 11 as the worst UI so far. I'm trying to find a way to restore the Windows 7 Basic look and behavior but it's seem hopeless. Win 11 look like a Fisher Price toy

Doesn't apply on settings pages so not much point in it frankly the scroll bar column is not the problem so increasing it screws up any advantage of increasing the slider and not increasing both doesn't do squat :/

No. Anything less than or equal to -330 is fine. I didn't like anything fatter than -330 though.

Hi,
I really never use a scroll bar personally pages scroll automatically with mouse wheel
Although I do disable auto scroll on hover so just a little click for active is all it takes sometimes.
Biggest grip is with auto hiding scroll bars because hidden you'd likely never notice if content is lower on the page.

@Bree I think he means "mouse". It doesn't matter what you use, mouse or touchpad, the input method may be different but scrollbars drag and click the same. One can make the size of the scrollbars to whatever size works the best for them.

Yes, I read "I do not have a

" as meaning they only had a touchpad, same as me. Scrolling gestures on my touchpad work just fine. I've never need to bother with the scrollbars.

I normally use my mouse's scroll wheel, automatically trying to scroll up or down whether or not I see the scroll bar. The only time I worry about the bar is if I want to get to the top/bottom in a hurry, and then, Ctrl Up/Down Arrow generally works just fine.
