Solved Need help Lenovo won't boot up

Before we give up, please just address the question from @SlicEnDicE. If that works it may make everything we have been doing obsolete and solve issues for you.

Yes and i answered this question above in post #76 ............. that was one of the first things i looked at when i started this fixing process !

We should have a good boot disk now. I'm just not clear on whether flashh4 has even tried booting from it yet.
Answer is yes as i stated above in post #68 ...............

I did get my disk formatted so now i will try hsehestedt instructions again !

Please indicate whether the computer can or cannot boot to the Lenovo UEFI hardware diagnostics.

No it will not !!

I'm going to order a Boot CD for it !

It's a bit late in the day, but can you supply the exact model of the Lenovo PC? I didn't find it in a quick scan through the thread. If it's more than a couple of years old, it may not officially support Windows 11.

I'm not sure why you're not being directed to use the "ordinary" procedure. If you're prepared to do a clean install (which erases the C: drive), I'd just use the Media Creation Tool method.

What do you see when the computer is powered on?

Had you tried only booting to Windows 11 or did you also try Windows 10?

NO !

Yes and it was running for 2 days just fine untill the popup saying we need to reset your computer and there was no box to check saying NO, it just did it on it's own !

That was from my computer NOT from the Lenovo !!

Do you mean that you haven't been able to get the PC to boot from a USB drive?

There are normally a couple of ways of doing that.

One is to go into the BIOS settings and set USB as the first boot priority.

The other way is to use a hotkey to set a one-time boot order. (That's my preferred method.) Have you posted what Lenovo model it is? That might make it likelier to find you the correct hotkey. It may be F12.

Maybe it's time for you to get some in-person help. Trying to talk someone through this in a forum is a painfully slow process.

Let me breakdown my understanding and where we were headed...

My understanding is that during Windows setup neither the keyboard nor the mouse are working.

As a result, we have created a bootable USB Flash Drive (UFD) that includes a an unattended answer file. That UFD has been successfully created now. My next step would be to boot from that UFD now!!!

In any case, that UFD is configured to bypass any Win 11 specific system requirements just in case this system does not meet all requirements. Even more important, for now, is the fact that this unattended will take us up to the screen where the disks in the system are shown, similar to the picture I posted in posting #72 of this thread. By getting to that screen I hope to know what drive to install Windows onto. Maybe there is only one drive in which case we would want to install to drive 0.

If the mouse and / or keyboard is still not working at that screen, then my next step would be very simple:

Simply replace the autounattend.xml answer file on the root of the UFD with another one that specifies the correct disk to install onto. This would be 100% unattended installation so that no mouse or keyboard access is needed at all to completely install Win 11. The thinking is that hopefully with a complete installation of Windows it will be able to detect and use the mouse and or keyboard.

I'm following this method because I have a similar experience with a system. I have a cheap Windows tablet from CHUWI that behaves similar to this. During setup of Windows, neither the mouse nor the touchscreen works, although the keyboard does. So I made a completely automated unattended answer file for it and when that is does running and Windows is installed on the system, it sees all the devices just fine.

Here is what popped up this morning when i was trying to get it to boot ! Well it did but not sure of what to do now hsehestedt ???

But the mouse & key board is NOT working ! Now this mouse & KB is both HP's. They both were working fine when it ask to reset its' self ! So i don't think because they are not Lenovo would be why not working !!

Not quite sure about this since everything works fine in BIOS...according to previous posts...
