Need ISO for Last Stable 24H2 for Repair Install

I'm running Win 11 24Hs build 26100.2454 and have finally gotten too frustrated by a bug I believe came with a recent OS upgrade. And that is on my HP Spectre laptop WIndows file explorer is not working correctly when I work with LibreOffice scalc on my Western Digital MyBook network drive. I've tried a lot of fixes but nothing works. Tried Open Office, tried version 5 of LibreOffice. Ran SC File Checker and the DISM commands to fix any corrupt system files, etc. Nothing changes the problem. I have no issues with my Windows 10 PC. The only thing I haven't tried yet is going back to a previous build when I had no problems like this.

When I open an .xls file with scalc (LibreOffice's spreadsheet app) a temp file is created in the same folder (which is normal) but when I close the file, either saving it or not, the temp file remains and I can't open it afterward, and even if I delete it the temp file returns. On the Win 10 system that temp file closes by itself, which is the normal behavior. Another problem is opening the My Documents folder where the excel files are in this build of Win 11, the folder shows empty unless I expand the folder and click on a sub folder and THEN click on the main My Documents folder, and then the files will appear. Also some files that are there do not show up in the list! I'm tired of dealing with this! Libre Office forums offer solutions which do not work for me.

Can I do a repair install using an older ISO if one even exists? Even if it is a 23H2 build.

Thanks Brink (message #2), After a couple stumble with UUUDump, I have CMD running the compile. After (if?) it completes successfully ( I downloaded build 1742 just to make sure the version was old enough when my machine was running OK) I will create an image of its current state and then see if a Repair Install with work. My machine is unsupported, so I'm hoping that merely going back a number of builds won't be an issue.

Hi Rollback J, I have already run those commands with no change to my issue, thanks anyway.

It has been about 45 minutes or an hour and the compiler ran in a CMD as Administrator but it didn't end with "press 0 to exit" so I'm not sure if it is finished. A folder named ISOFOLDER was created with seemingly all the setup files, around 3 GB of data (bootmgr.efi; a sources folder; autorun.inf; bootmgr; setup.exe file; a boot folder; a support folder; and an efi folder. And the CMD window is still siting there with the last few lines reading:

I looked at the UUDump page I used to build the ISO and all I checked under Conversion Options was "Include Updates" and didn't check "Run Component Cleanup".

Any thoughts on this ? I attach the full CMD process.

I'm creating the ISO for 26100.1742 right now. When it's finished I will attach a text file, of the Command prompt dialog.

In order to perform a Repair Install / Update In Situ, ALL the following criteria MUST be met:-

  • You will only be able to perform a repair install of Windows 11 from within Windows 11. You will not be able to perform a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
  • The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be the same edition, same version, and same or higher build as the currently installed Windows 11
  • The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be for the same language as your currently installed Windows 11.
lOtherwise, you can't keep personal files and / or apps.

So using a 1742 .ISO will not work

All conditions met. I'm almost ready, the ISO should be ready very shortly and I'll make a Reflect image then run the setup from within Windows. Regards!

In the past it only took me about 10-15 mins to create the ISO.
This time it was taking forever, until... I disabled Bitdefender.
