New build need help with AMD CPU

Yes there is mine the one I picked

AMD Ryzen™ 9 7900X3D 12-Core, 24-Thread Desktop Processor
I meant a 9000 series CPU. That'd be a Ryzen 9 9900X3D. The 9900X exists, but no 9900X3D yet. The series is quite new.

I'm not sure that a 9000 series CPU would be the best choice for a gamer. I have the feeling that gaming review sites hate them, but if they don't get a 50% performance boost at the same or lower price than the previous generation, they'll scream that the new product is crap.

Gamers are generally very particular about their settings and this stands to reason as every game has its own particular nuances and features. This is why I leave most of this to my client when I build a gaming PC. It has however been my personal finding that for gaming any 8 core CPU that can be clocked @ over 4 GHz is more than amply suitable for gaming unless it is a CPU designed specifically for servers. Interestingly, some Xeons even don't do a bad job on some games and can work especially well when coupled with a quality graphics card. In my opinion, this is largely due to the fact that once a reliable CPU is acquired the lion's share of the workload is determined by the GFX card (assuming one is being used). To be fair, although there has been tremendous development in the world of graphics via CPU for the time being a dedicated GPU is vastly more superior in practically every case.

There is a way to tweak a CPU for single threaded performance from the BIOS but I have not had to do this in years and I no longer advise it as many games today will employ multi-threaded performance anyway. Personally, I am not a hard core gamer so I am quite happy with my Ryzen 7 3800X on my old HERO system board. Indubitably the Ryzen 9 7900X3D is light years ahead of this in technological advancement; but I am not in the least bit familiar with this CPU so I can't really say either way how well it performs.

I tend to shy away from hardware fanboi-isms as given my age and experience I've found both Intel and AMD to be tremendous distributors of absolute garbage and excellent products. For example, I'm typing this on an old Intel 6900K (which, ironically, is an X series chip) and this CPU has served me exceedingly well over the years without a hiccough despite it's non-compliance with Windoze 11 requirements. For the life of me I fail to understand why anyone would need a 12 core CPU for gaming but it is what it is. Some have criticized me for selecting a 16 thread CPU and 128 GB of RAM with more hard drives than there are letters in the alphabet simply because I'm not running a corporate server. Well, tough. My build suits my needs. Fanaticism aside, I have found XFX to be a seriously reliable product in the way of GPUs and reasonably priced compared to other brand names. I have yet to have any XFX graphics card fail on me or on any of the builds I've made for others. I can't say this for AMD or NVIDIA although I'm using AMD and NIVIDIA graphics cards in my main builds.

IMO the AMD Ryzen™ 9 7900X3D 12-Core, 24-Thread Desktop Processor was designed for those who have no intention of including a dedicated graphics card in their build. If a dedicated graphics card is being used then it's pretty much overkill. I suppose it would be nice to have in the event that the GFX card suddenly and mysteriously dies but otherwise I fail to see the point when those dollars could be invested in other components. Anyway, that's my take on it. To each their own.

I've never used a DP 2.1 cable, but using an optical one seems absurd for a 2m (6.6') long one.

Besides, the LG 34GS95QE includes a DP cable in the box. Call me an optimist, but I'd expect it to be adequate.

Thank you for your post
My original CPU was the 7800x3d after looking YouTube videos I made up my mind to get the Ryzen 7 7800x3d but
As I was looking around I found the Ryzen 9 7900x3d is the same price and 5.6 out of the box why should I pay 450 euro for half the cores and for a Ryzen 7 not a Ryzen 9?
No matter how you look at it I can't go wrong with a newer generation CPU.
Other than that I would stick with the 7800

Yes you are right there should be a cable
Last time when I purchased my 32 inch monitor I'm not sure either it got switched in the shop or something.
Because I suffered from the one I found in the Box.

So I trying to be smart 🤓 this time and be prepared

MSI has a qualified vendor's list for RAM. The KLEVV that you list isn't on it. That doesn't mean that it won't work, but I wonder how you chose it?

It seems a little odd that they don't list any 32GB DIMMs. I see that Kingston lists some, though. G.Skill has some, but they have no specific listing for that motherboard. (Other X670E boards, yes.)

I've used EVGA PSUs for years. However, my most recent purchase from them, a Supernova 1600 G+, suffered from excessive fan noise. (I've never had that before with a eVGA PSU.) I replaced it with a BeQuiet! Straight power 12.

If you intend to be a serious gamer, you might consider an nVidia RTX 4070 Super over the RX 7800XT. It's cost more, but it should have better performance. There is no need to pair an AMD GPU with an AMD motherboard. The 7800XT looks superior to an RTX 4060 ti, though.

The M.2 drive is supposed to be a very good Gen4 one. You could spend more on a Gen5 one, but its gaming performance probably would not be superior. (Higher streaming data rates, but no better random reads/writes.)

I like my version (1500W). It's an ATX 3 PSU, which means that it includes a 12VHPWR cable for newer nVidia GPUs. It's quiet, and compact.

Some might find that it doesn't have enough ports. Not an issue for me.

As regards the Corsair 3500X, my last Corsair case was a 4000D. It was OK, except the mounting cage for the 3.5" drives badly cramped the cabling for the PSU.

Lately, I've become more of a Lian Li fan.

MSI has a list of RAM that they've tested as working with your motherboard.

The KLEVV RAM you chose isn't on that list. (Which isn't a terrible thing. MSI has probably tested only a small fraction of the RAM on the market.)

Some RAM makers maintain their own compatibility lists. (Kingston and Crucial for example.)
