All anti-virus programs will have false positives from time to time. Even Defender has had a few notable examples. Would you rather have a false positive or a missed and undetected piece of malware slip through? Very few things have ever gotten past Norton. They have always had some of the best "zero-day" protection in the industry. McAfee doesn't have as good of a record though.

After I dumped them they started tagging my office files as corrupt to people that used norton lol classic
