I use to have the same problem with all of the HP printers I have owned. The 6830 has had the problem but not as many times as the other HP printers. Now that I said that the problem will probably raise its head. The scan to computer app has stopped working. I have ViewScan x64 and NAPS2 installed if I need to scan to my computer so I haven't tried to fix it. It might even be due to the fact that the printer is in sleep mode.Mine is a MFC-J497DW, I think I paid less than $100.00 us for it. I had a couple of HP’s “not expense ones” they both gave me some issues, the last one I owned before I bought the Brother, it seemed every time I went to print something, I had to reboot my PC. Maybe it was an OS issue, but the Brother has never had any issues.
