I used this just fine to pin Control Panel items just fine, among programs not found in Start etc.

Thanks for the help. I just tried this exactly as you described, but when I locate 'Control.exe' (in c:\windows\system32) in the explorer session just launched, and right-click it, there's no option for pinning. This is my 'right click' menu:

The only thing of possible relevance I can think of is, I have my explorer sessions set to reopen on restart, so when I restarted, there were two existing explorer sessions (but they were just pointing to random 'data' folders, nothing to do with control panel objects). Did I miss something here? I guess I also took steps (before finding EP) to disable the 'show more options' sub-menu for explorer, so now right click goes straight to the detailed menu as seen above. Thanks again!

EDIT TO ADD - I just randomly right-clicked a few other 'exe' files in the same directory, and they DO offer the 'pin to start' option on the right-click menu, so there's something specific about 'control.exe' that's not offering me the pin to start option!

EDIT TO ADD #2: I just created a shortcut to 'control.exe', on my desktop, and I can right-click that, and get 'pin to start', and it showed up on the start menu! So I got it to work, though I don't understand why (why would the right-click of 'control.exe' itself not reveal 'pin to start'). But I'm happy it's working!

@Dch48 I am using lots of it, the taskbar, grouping, weather app so much and yes everything works 100% with the 22000.613 update

Any plans to submit the latest build to MS so they stop flagging it via SmartScreen?

Submit a file for malware analysis - Microsoft Security Intelligence

Submit suspected malware or incorrectly detected files for analysis. Submitted files will be added to or removed from antimalware definitions based on the analysis results.

I have submitted a number of my own projects that flagged as false positive and they are normally fixed within a few days.

Somehow I don't think MS would like EP because of what it is designed to do

I would like to see it, but the big selling point of 11 was the taskbar, context menu and start menu which EP can change back to be like 10

Hi, I have a issue with ExplorerPatcher where the system tray is gone, and the apps from the system tray are on my taskbar.
Any ways to fix this?

Microsofts opinion about what ExplorerPatcher does or how it does it has nothing to do with their decision to add the program hash to their white list for SmartScreen and Windows Defender. ExplorerPatcher does not violate any laws or TOS/EULAs.

ExplorerPatchers GitHub page clearly dictates exactly what ExplorerPatcher does along with source code showing exactly how it functions. The GitHub page also contains build instructions that can then be used to verify that the resulting object is the same as what is being requested to whitelist.

There are plenty of projects that Microsoft may not “agree” with but they have whitelisted as the project itself is not malicious.

I have witnessed this bug myself a few times also. Restarting the explorer process (i.e. by clicking on the Restart File Explorer link at the bottom of ExplorerPatcher's settings window) fixes it until the next time when it happens again, but it happens only very rarely for me.

@jerrypc1 Some people like it !!, but to be honest I don't mind it and use it on my Dev build machine but for every day use andthe way I work it is just not suitable for me

Currently EP is working great, love everything about it, except the Virtual Desktop Keys (Win+Tab) is broken. So the only reason I install StartAllBack is to restore that feature. It's impossible to multitask without the virtual desktops.
