Yeah, that option is for enabling symbols downloading in general. If one blocks Internet access for `explorer.exe` from firewall, it stops all downloads, including symbols downloads from ExplorerPatcher, and there isn't really anything to do from ExplorerPatcher in that case, user preferences in firewall are, of course, separate, and depend on the actual firewall that is used.

Good thing to put on my notes, disable the explorer rule on firewall everytime there is a windows update.

Like Rod said.. EP will download some files. It is also stated on the release page of ExplorerPatcher

Nothing unusual for the Windows screen to goes blanck after Windows update. Just wait up to 30 seconds, and symbol files will download (of course, after you properly set your firewall..)

I recall having Windows 10 taskbar + Task View / WIN+TAB working previously with ExplorerPatcher, so I'm not sure if this stopped working due to a recent EP update, or if it's because I'm running a recent Dev build which broke the functionality

P.S. Right click Start button / WIN+X is also not working for me with this combination (Dev build 22581.200, EP v22000.556.43.4) so it seems Microsoft broke that again in recent Dev builds ? Again, this only happens when Windows 10 taskbar is enabled. It works fine with 11 taskbar.

(Special thanks to the developer for fixing the transparent taskbar issue affecting latest Dev builds. This project is really awesome please keep up the good work!!)

Just posting here to say that Task View / WIN+TAB, appears to be working again since Insider Dev Build 25115.1000.

Win+x / Right click start menu, still not working however. but I personally don't use this nearly as much

This build is actually 20 days old (latest pre-release). these builds are very stable now. Think you can safely install pre-release versions.

Does anyone else experience issue related to active window losing focus.

It seems to happen randomly. I have an active window and suddenly it loses focus. I am not able to pin-point the exact cause for it, but I have a feeling it might be related to Explorer Patcher.

No, never had that problem. Always running on Win 11 official builds only, EP latest pre-release (also always).

Disable, or uninstall it and you'll see if EP is the culprit

Hallo,
I have performed an InplaceUpgrade from Win11 22000.675 to win11 22H2 22621.1, Windows 11 22H2 22621 ISO / ESD (deutsch, english), unfortunately the EP only works partially, right mouse click on the Windows tile, Win key + X, left click on the Wifi icon and Info Center no longer work.
Hope very much for an update of Valinet.

Don't count on regular updates for Insider Dev builds.. Too much work for limited success. Impossible to fix everything with every new build.

It's all hit and miss as the dev builds aren't really supported, all EP are only tested on release builds

In english:
Yesterday, the beta and dev channels were separated again. In the beta channel it now continues as usual with the Windows 11 22H2. As Zac tweeted, the Windows 11 22621 should be the final build if there are no further problems. Otherwise as a base (Escrow RTM).

Sorry, but that site is in Deutsch, and I can't read it. Nor could I find a way to change it to English.

I take it you don't use Chrome as that will translate, also there are a few extensions for other browsers to translate as I am sure you already know

Ha! I've never found a reason to translate before. Others have translated or told the OP to post in English.

Thanks for the hint. Now I'm going to figure out how to get Firefox to translate.

hallo, MS edge should work , I am from Germany. In Firefox I take the imtranslator addon. For this forum, I use often the MS translator app from the store.
