New Version of ExplorerPatcher

So, is anyone willing to test this version of ExplorerPatcher on the 22621.963 OS build (KB5021255) which some people experienced crashes on? Hopefully the fixes inside make it functional again, without crashes. I can't really reproduce the issue on my test virtual machine (i.e. on my VM, it doesn't crash), so I rely heavily on feedback from people where it crashes to tell if it still happens.

PS. It's inside a zip archive, unzip it and you will find `ep_setup.exe` in there.

At one point I had Explorer Patcher installed and working, but then did a clean install of Windows 11. I'm now on Windows 11 22H2, Build 22621.963. I just installed the new version you posted, and so far, I cannot find EP anywhere on my system, except for Apps>Installed Apps.

I can see it right after installation, but if I close it, I can no longer find it.

I know I'm doing something wrong, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what that is.

Did you right mouse click on the task bar, click on Properties?

Yep, if you mean to "unblock" it.

After unblocking, I "Extracted all"

OH! I just right clicked on the taskbar>Properties, and duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :ffs:

I'm not sure about unblocking. When you right mouse click on the taskbar, if installed, in the context menu, there should be a Properties entry. Clicking on Properties should open ExplorerPatcher.

Edit: Sometimes when downloading a zipped app, it needs to be unblocked and extracted. So, you right click on the "download", then click on Properties, then unblock, which will allow the app to be installed. That's what threw me off when you said right click taskbar/properties. Not exactly the same, but close enough to confuse this idjit.

So, now that you've been so helpful, do you know of a tutorial for EP?

Or, maybe I need to go back and read the thread?

Or just paste rundll32.exe %windir%\dxgi.dll,ZZGUI into a new shortcut. lol

My system version is 22621.819 now, when I try to updata KB5021255 by setting, it shows error 0x800f081f. Some people say they updata KB5021255 successfully but when they open start menu, it will crash, and CrashDumps show StartMenuExperienceHost.exe.10884.dmp

That will happen without the correct symbol references, yes.

I am using EP version 22621.608.51.6 and windows pro version 22621.963

Recently I have found the weather app in the taskbar is not loading, with the no internet access message, after a few clicks on the taskbar icon it works, anyone any thoughts on a cure for this?

it's "flashing white", basically explorer being loaded over and over until EP is uninstalled.

I pinned ExplorerPatcher Properties to the taskbar. Makes customisation easier if I need to change a setting.

I reinstall the system 22621.1105 and EP 22621.608.51.6 two times today, it seems that the win11 style start menu still dosnt work ,and microsoft store programs dont exist in win10 style start menu's program list

Until a fix for MSIX apps not appearing in the Windows 10 start menu comes to EP, you can simply run the installer again! And voila, all your MSIX apps are there.

Which installer? I think you means microsft app installer so I installed wsa. But wsa still not exist in the programs list, and unexpectedly, android apps show in the program list
