100%! This is why I'm hanging on to EP for as long as I can, but I'm afraid it's not long before we can't use it anymore. Even going to Linux or *shudder* Mac wouldn't bring back a suitable taskbar.

That's why I customize it with Open Shell. As a minimum I would use only Explorer Patcher to enable right-click menu and ungroup the network/audio icons so I can customize them with Customizer God (when grouped any custom icons are ignored).

Hi,
Yeah I use mostly 10 on taskbar and start menu
Then started using 7 style in explorer just to have preview pane listed without messing with the stupid icons on 11 or ribbon on 10.

Yuppers. The Windows 11 taskbar doesn't let me use taskbar toolbars nor lets me have all systray icons always visible, and it takes up way too much screen estate─and it isn't just the minimum taskbar height that's still way too high, as the icon spacing is also gargantuit. Like poo in a blender, that's what that is.

like a lot of people here, i'm also having issues with windows 11 22621.1413, ep 22621.1344.53.1

alt+tab, win+tab and the volume and brigthness sliders are broken when using windows 10 taskbar

+1 on problems with Windows 11 22621.1413. With Explorer Patcher enabled explorer.exe is stuck in crash loop.
I've used Win10 vertical taskbar style.
Reinstalling EP didn't help =(

EP settings | Updates ➜ enable "Receive pre-release versions, if available (not recommended)"
Also, when you choose to manually download the installer, be sure to grab the latest version, REGARDLESS of whether it says "Latest" or "Pre-release":

It changes the right click context menu, the taskbar, it adds a the use of battery mode and a custom clock I use the old ClassicShell which only changes the start menu, but works great for me.

Oay I use Brinks reg files to add power options and context menu show more removal and additions like cmd/ power shell as admin here/ take ownership..

Anyone got an alternative to EP since it seems like it is not getting updated to fix minor bugs?

The option to remove the "Recommended" section doesn't seem to work as reliably after the Moment 2 update with the latest version of ExplorerPatcher (22621.1344.53.1). It seems to stop working randomly after a few hours, resulting in the unsightly "Recommended" section showing its ugly face. Restarting explorer.exe fixes it, but only temporarily. It will stop working randomly after a few more hours.

Initiating a remote desktop connection to a computer with this option enabled causes it to stop working 100% of the time. Restarting explorer.exe in the remote session fixes the issue, but again, it appears to be only temporary. This issue seems to be happening regardless of whether ExplorerPatcher is the only customization tool installed, or the fix to remove "Recommended" is sideloaded using the process outlined in a previous comment I posted on this thread.

I've tried disabling the Moment 2 features related to the start menu and taskbar via ViVeTool, but that hasn't really helped. I think disabling the touch-optimized taskbar might have extended the duration somewhat, but I can't say that with 100% confidence. I've got an AutoHotkey script configured to quickly restart explorer.exe with a shortcut, but it's a bit irksome to have to run it every few hours. Has anyone else run into any issues with this, or have any "Recommendations"?

StartAllBack is worth $5 regardless of whether I fix ExplorerPatcher or not. The value is in there nevertheless. To get ExplorerPatcher updated, someone in this Universe has to figure out what to write in the update, so as to fix things, and also have the time to do so. Just saying...
