I have never used ExplorerPatcher. Does it have an option to increase the size of the taskbar or the font? Since I now have the seconds showing on the clock, I would like the numbers to be a bit larger.

No it does not have that option.
However this post will help you accomplish that:

Does it still work on the latest builds?
'Latest builds' means nothing. You don't say what channel you are on, and you don't mention your build number.
As long as you are not on a Canary build, it should still work.
Try it, it has worked for many users.
It's easy & safe to undo if that does not work.
As always, do a backup before you start.

Help Needed. I am running the latest version of ExplorerPatcher and Windows 11 22621.1555 In EP I use the windows 10 taskbar and the Atomic clock I have noticed on my new computer which is 2560x1600 as opposed to 1920x1080 That the bottom of the clock is cut off with a blue line the same color as the taskbar so it is not noticable until I use my custom clock. Anyone know how to make the EP taskbar bigger or get rid of this line?
thanks Guys............... Rod

Aside from changing the icons size of the Windows 10 taskbar and/or changing the number of lines (rows) that the taskbar uses, AFAIK the only thing that you can do is to change the Display Scale.

It's a good chance, to congratulate the author Valentin-Gabriel Radu with an article in the respected PC World magazine about his tool. Moreover, a couple of days this news was a headline on the magazine's website.

Bring back Windows 11’s missing features with this awesome free app
It's flattering indeed, although I'd appreciate if they'd quote program options correctly. Once and for all, as it is already stated in the Properties window: you have to register ExplorerPatcher as a shell extension, which I do not really recommend and do not test extensively for, ONLY IF you want the options marked with (**) to work in Open/Save file dialogs, in addition to File Explorer windows where they already work out of the box, since ExplorerPatcher is already injected in the File Explorer process, as can be seen from the modified taskbar and so on. In other words, those setting work in File Explorer just fine WITHOUT registering as shell extension... That option being not tested in-depth and polished, it leads to a lot of problems and frustration for some users - injecting ALL apps on the system is no mean feat...

Win 7 command bar works on 22621.1555 ?

Maybe I should try that older EP in case it also has a working win-10 Start button

Hey I am having problems after W11 update, figured I would let anybody know. Windows Smartscreen is flagging Explorerpatcher as malicious, and stopping it from running.

I was actually stuck in this awful loop where after uninstall expatcher -> update windows -> reinstall expatcher, that windows was no longer functional. Windows explorer would just constantly start-stop and the taskbar etc would blink on and off at about 1hz aka 1 per second. Really annoying, fortunately ctrl-alt-del still worked, so I shiftclick on restart for advanced options, do system restore which was very conveniently just a couple hours previous.

Anyways, I downloaded the latest version of expatcher and will try again. I actually whitelisted the folder I have the installer inside of, as well as the app itself just to see, because Windows defender was still blocking it. Really terrible.

Edit: Ok great, it is working correclty now. Probably because I hadn't downloaded the latest expatcher before trying to install it after windows update. Regardless, the fact that w11 security would "help" me by breaking windows explorer itself is a new low for my w11 experience. Thank goodnes valinet and everyone else who contributes to the project have kept this thing going.

I do not understand why Microsoft is so rigid with the new changes. They can obviously be optional as evidenced by expatcher working the way it does. Just give me a normal taskbar, and I'll be fine. I do not want to combine taskbar items, and I want text to distinguish different items. I also want a quicklaunch. This gives you the best of both worlds, where you have a convenient app launcher type of area, but also very importantly, a highly usable taskbar instead of a bunch of nameless icons. Having a normal start menu where I just see the apps I have instead of this useless 2 step process W11 introduced, is a nice plus. Not to mention right-click context menu "regression" back to pre-11.

Just a (very) minor issue... choosing to install abbodi1406's VisualCppRedist_AIO_x86_x64_73 with the option to avoid having to reboot causes an explorer crash, and crashes explorer again immediately upon trying to manually relaunch explorer next, but then the issue went away after I did a reboot. Other than that, everything looks to be fine.
