No brightness slider available

I'm having vision problems. The screen seems too bright for me but when I go to System/Display I have no slider button to reduce brightness.

I tried changing the default font to Comic Sans MS Bold and when I got to the "merge" part a window said I could only use binary fonts or some such thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Since your using a desktop, you would need to adjust the brightness on your monitor itself, not within windows.

That depends on if their video card came with software or not. I can adjust the brightness on my monitors using NVIDIA Control Panel.

Thanks all. I was able to lower the brightness, but can't figure our how to adjust all the other settings it shows.

Now I'm in big trouble. I don't know what I hit, but I've got my screen all skinny. Can anyone help>
Along the left site there is Brightness/Contrast, then Auto Adjust which is greyed out, thenInput Source, Color,Display,Energy, Menu,Personalize, Others.
On the bottom of my screen in the right corner are down arrow, up arrow, right arrow and X.

I just made it to factory reset and tried that but it didn't wori.

I just got it back to normal. Thanks for being here. Hope I'm done with this now.

Please post a screenshot, of what it does show...


How to post a screenshot on this forum...

1. Take the screenshot, (or camera pic), edit it as desired, save to your desktop as .png or .jpg (max. size = 2MB)
2. Left click in your post, where you want to place the screenshot.
3. Click the Attach Files button at lower left, browse to your image and select it.
4. Then click Insert, I usually choose the Thumbnail (smaller) option, or there is a Full Image (larger) option.

If the "new" PrtSc key function is not to your liking... here is how to set it back to it's classic function...

Are you sure you are using the correct display driver?

If you use the default MS driver, you often cannot adjust brightness from settings menu.

Check settings in device manager.

Once I wanted to dim our TV because it was too bright with the lights off. Brightness setting was or little use. I opened Intel Graphics Properties and changed the gamma setting to make the screen darker. nVidia Controller Panel has a similar settings in Screen color section.
