A question. I use photopea.com right now for photo editing needs, is there any advantages to PSP (other than it being offline)

It does everything, included Animation Shop 3, and has an easy learning curve.
I started long ago with 4.12, went to 7.04 and didn't have to go any further.

That's up to you. I'd imagine you'll end up with 7.04 in the long run.
IMO, they kinda messed up 8.1 and 9.01. 4.12 was great but couldn't do some things.

Back in my Diablo II days, I made this in about 5 minutes... with 7.04
And, most of the 5 mins was spent finding a good bullet holes pic.
This was before LCD screens, so it had to be bullet holes in glass. :-)

I use 7.04 and so does @Bree ... that I know of. I'm sure there's others.

I use XnView Classic (minimal) to keep track of my pics. It's an awesome program also.

You can set the thumbnails to any size. And it does a lot of cool stuff too.
Lot of batch processing stuff, which comes in really handy. :-)


Paintshop Pro 7.04 with Animation Shop 3 is only 154 MB installed.
XnView is 11 MB.

Wow. useful, thanks! Hate the built in photo viewer so I switched to the old one. Hate the video player, use vlc. Basically I hate Microsoft software on my pc… edge isn’t that bad

Hi folks

Sounds boring I know but I can find alternates of almost every Windows app if I have to -- but EXCEL is still by far the best spreadsheet out there -- none of the other Office clones are any thing like as good --especially if you need to make queries to MySQL and SAP HANA data bases and bring data into a spread sheet. So EXCEL would be my app that I'd hate to be without.

Photoshop comes just behind but The Gimp is proving more and more capable these days especially if you just want very high quality but not necessarily of commercial production quality destined for high glossy magazines.

Vegas Pro (Edit). I used to use Sony Movie Studio, which did everything I needed. Then it was taken over by Magix, and later dropped in favour of their own (inferior) movie studio software. There was an upgrade path to (Magix) Vegas Pro, which does everything that movie studio used to do and more. Although I have other video editing software (Cyberlink), nothing beats the old Sony keyboard editing system for speed and precision.
