Yes, the Majorgeeks link does indeed download direct from download.macrium.com. But it remains true that Macrium themselves do not publish that link anywhere on their own site (yet).

My last post was not to dispute your statement. Just a wonder how at least another three more sites do offer V 8 for free. With very happy downloaders reviews.
And I didn't take it as such. I think it's just a marketing ploy on Macrium's part. They want everyone to try the Trial version of v8 rather than the Free v7 in the hope of making a few more sales before they officially release a link for the v8 Free installer.

V 8 free is available also from official mirror on Majorgeeks.
BTW I am unable to trace back where I read it from but it was from a Macrium Reflect representative, maybe on Reddit couple of weeks ago.
He said that soon V 8 free shall be available. Could it be that some well known apps site got the head start?
All what I know is that there are at least 5 sites that offer V 8 free. Their download takes you to the official site download.
See Bree post #42 screenshot of Majorgeeks download. Sometime it is to good to be true, rare that it maybe.
In the future before I share finding I'll speak directly to the CEO or production manager of the apps in question....

I cannot understand why people would use (questionable) 3rd party sites when all you have to do is download trial, use it for 30 days, and if you decide advanced features are not for you, it reverts officially to free version.
In any case, anybody who has used Rapid Delta Restore, would conclude it is worth paying for paid version.

To clarify my post. Macrium 8 free is not available on the Macrium site so how can another site have the Macrium 8 free version available. I wouldn't trust it.
I know how to download the free trial version from the Macrium site. Does it automatically convert to the free version when it expires? I have no idea or need to find out.

To be strictly accurate, the v8 Free downloader is available from Macrium's own server download.macrium.com, what isn't available anywhere on Macrium's site is a link for it.
All MajorGeeks do is provide the link, the download comes direct from Macrium.

According to Macrium's site, you can download the Reflect 8 Home Trial version and after 30 days if you don't purchase it, it reverts to Reflect 8 Home Free.
Macrium Reflect - Incredibly powerful software that allows you to create and schedule effective backups
www.macrium.com
Or am I missing something here? I used to run Macrium 7 free version but decided to purchase it because I was very impressed that Paramount Software would provide a free backup solution, since then upgrading to Macrium 8.
According to Macrium's site, you can download the Reflect 8 Home Trial version and after 30 days if you don't purchase it, it reverts to Reflect 8 Home Free.
....Or am I missing something here?
No, that's exactly what it does, reverts to Free after 30 days.
If you have purchased v8 Home, then you can click Help > Remove license... If you do that and untick the default 'uninstall Reflect' then that too reverts to Free. You can then note down the v8 Free key from Help > About before reinstalling your key.
Then you could install the v8 Trial and change its installed key to the Free key to revert to Free immediately.

We've added French, Russian and Ukrainian translations to Macrium Reflect, and improved the coverage of translated strings.
Windows 11
Support has been added in RMBuilder for the Windows 11 PE Rescue Environment.
The rescue media now correctly automatically assigns drive letter 'C' to the Windows 11 system drive.
The rescue media now correctly identifies and labels Windows 11 for 'Fix Boot Problems' and 'ReDeploy'
We've fixed a problem that could cause a Windows 11 disk clone to hang at the end of the clone process.
If this affects you then please create fresh rescue media after updating.
Rescue Media Builder
The interface would not scale correctly when moved to a different monitor. This has been resolved.
Scheduling
The backup delay after reboot for scheduled backups is now user configurable. This enables a custom delay to enable network shares and external disks to come on-line before starting a backup. See here for more information.
The message displayed in the log for a full target disk has been improved
On some systems, tasks scheduled to run at logon would not always run. This has been resolved.
File and Folder Backup/Restore
There’s a new option in Restore to select the "Parent Folder" to restore when restoring to a new location. It’s now possible to restore individual files directly into the new folder, or restore higher parent folder(s) of the selected files.
Note, if the files selected to restore are in multiple folders then the common parent folder of the selected files is used as the base parent. See here for more information.
Some file modified dates in File and Folder backups could be off by the DST time difference. This has been resolved.
Use of inconsistent share name case in network share paths could lead to multiple root folders when mounting the backup in Explorer. This has been resolved.
Customers reported a rare case where exclusion filters could be ignored in Japanese. This has been resolved.
Cloning
We've resolved a problem where shrinking large FAT32 file systems, where the root directory cluster wasn't at a standard offset, could cause the cloned file system to be unreadable.
Note: The cluster offset indicates that the file system wasn't created by Windows, and is a rare occurrence.
viBoot
viBoot would not respond to a theme change. This has been resolved.
viBoot incorrectly checking password encrypted image files during VM creation. This has been resolved.
Empty error message was displayed when attempting to change repository location. This has been resolved.
Change Block Tracker
Change Block Tracker would sometimes fail to attach to the System volume. This has been resolved.
Image Guardian
We have improved the attack detection algorithms to provide enhanced security.
General
Customers were reporting issues with network share access in the UI and during backup. This has been resolved.
General UI
The File menu option in Reflect Monitor would sometimes not be shown. This has been resolved.
The Restore button in the Restore wizard would not disable all page items. This has been resolved.
Customers reported that the backup log could be in mixed English and German. This has been resolved.
Log View refresh button was not correctly finding new log files. This has been resolved.
Log View browser view option would not correctly show the backup state image. This has been resolved.
Existing Backups View was not showing split file total sizes alongside the single file size. This has been resolved.
Customers reported a crash in the Existing Backups view when refreshing the list of files. This has been resolved.

If you don't want to use a trial version and download MR from third-party sources, it's available directly on Reflect Free page: choose "Reflect 8 Free", click on Download Free and look at the dialog which suggests to download the trial version instead: select "I need a personal free license" and click Continue at the bottom.
You download the installer ReflectDLHF.exe (about 5 Mb). It doesn't have a Trial selection, only Free. Right now it allows to download v8.0.6350_reflect_setup_free_x64.exe, but installed version will be updated internally when the time comes.
And I didn't take it as such. I think it's just a marketing ploy on Macrium's part. They want everyone to try the Trial version of v8 rather than the Free v7 in the hope of making a few more sales before they officially release a link for the v8 Free installer.
