My trusty 7 year old Dell laptop developed "Co-morbidities", so I went for this from Currys uk, at £1099. Details in System 2 below. So far, it's very nice - but anyone else using Currys site, should know that their "Specs" are inaccurate: you need to look at the Samsung site instead. - e.g. they say it has a USB type A slot, but that is only the 16" model. New laptop.webp(and don't get me started on the 512 TB hard drive!)

Thanks for the suggestion - re type A socket. I only plan to use this for browsing, emails and the odd video viewing most of the time. I do a presentation using powerpoint from time to time and that's probably the only serious work I do on the laptop. I shall certainly not be installing a second OS!

I understand, you will probably want a ethernet adapter also & the one I bought 1st has that too.
I recently bought 1 of these also to add a couple of 'Type C' ports w/ a ethernet port also.
@ Amazon.
It does need a (small) charger if using more than a couple of ports at once though.

You said in your other post (partial review) that the machine had been restored by a Samsung technician. Do you still have it?

No, I waited a couple of hours while they 'Fixed' it, then took it with me.
Under warrantee so it was no charge except wasting a day commuting & waiting.

Certainly using it, haven't had any problems w/ it since the OS repair.
I did update Win11 Home to Pro.
I also installed & made a Macrium Reflect VX image to be safe though.
Not doing any Insider testing w/ it.

Thanks for your comments. I certainly do have a couple of concerns about this machine - specifically the fixed size of the 'hard drive' storage and the size of the RAM - however, both are double what I had on my previous laptop, so I guess it will be OK for a few years. I was aware of the 7 issues referred to in your other thread and the only one which worried me a little was the issue of drivers not being available for some peripherals - in my case the multifunction device which I connect to via wifi. (Made by Brother, who say that there is no scanner driver for Windows ARM and that the printer needs to use the built in Microsoft driver). On the positive side, I like the speed of the device, and the screen is gorgeous; sound capabilities are very good too. The AI capabilities will be interesting when they mature a bit.

Yeah i'm hoping that part is what is needed. @A Guy told me in another thread that it was likely a bad T-Con board. So, I'm praying that's all it is. I'll find out tomorrow when I get the part in.

After waiting for the official Black Friday Sale on Amazon and hoping they might have the newest fastest Samsung T9 4TB external drives on sale which are $749 CAN regular price each, I bought 2 SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 4TB Internal drives instead for $379.97 each to be used in external enclosures.

I also got really lucky as the drives were out of stock yesterday and are now out of stock 10 minutes after my purchase below.

Whatcha need 4TB for bud? Not that it's a bad thing. Storage for movies/TV Shows I get it. I assume you're gonna run the OS off of it. Maybe split the partitions in half?
