I have a large number of my DVDs copied to an external HDD. When I'm ready to watch I make a playlist.

Yeah, good optics isn't cheap. I had a birder friend way back when that had a some Leica for birding and I thought he was nuts paying that much. Then I ended up getting a camera lens that cost 4-5x that and did a lot of bird photography with it. Couldn't afford that now. LOL.

Yep... those were the day. Back in the 35mm film days, I had a Nikon F2 with motor drive, and a pile of top of the line glass to go with.
I had darkrooms as well from age 10 to age 25 or so.

And... to be honest.... I'm not really very good with a DSLR.
SLR... I was awesome. DSLR... not so much. Too many buttons and things.

And... the binocs I just ordered can couple to a smart phone, but not a DSLR.
Problem with that is... I have a DSLR and don't have a smart phone.

Thanks for the tip Winuser.
I took a look at the Sony CD/DVD player in the Reference Guide.
It appears for this one they say: 4:3 Output.... Select "FULL" when you can change the aspect ration on your TV.
Its easy enough to do that on the LED TV.
Wondering (minor) if a burn-in in still possible on new TVs.

Are you referring to the possibility of a still image being burned into the screen if left on too long. If you are I don't think modern TVs have that problem.

Some OLED still do I expect. On most other types solid-state TV, no.

Well my binoculars just arrived a couple hours ago.
Ofc they're not $1500 binocs, but they are easily worth the $74, I paid for them.

I can read a license plate 500yds., away. And I could focus on a telephone pole transformer, a couple miles away.
The image is really bright and clear as well. One of these days I'll take some pics. But they have better pics at Amazon anyway.

Well... I just received my Hellocube PU leather, rubber backed 31" x 15" desk mat to cover my keyboard tray.
The keyboard holds it still and the mouse loves the surface. Unfortunately, my hand doesn't slide on the PU leather as easily as the mouse. So that's a big fail.

But... I came up with a solution (I hope). A piece of genuine leather 30" x 10", tanned on one side.
I got it from European Leather Works, which is in California. Well I got it from them through Amazon where it was $6 cheaper.

Been using the same type on my desk but I don't understand why you need to slide your hand too much? You probably need to adjust your mouse dpi. My wrist is usually glued to the pad and I just twist and turn and sometimes just lift the mouse a bit if have to cover wider area.

Being old and decrepit... I own a mouse that only hits 1000 dpi.
I also have a 30" monitor.

Both of which conspire to require mouse-hand movement. I'm pretty sure the genuine leather will solve the problem.
I only need to move my mouse-hand an inch or two at most.
But over a long period... the PU leather gets a tad annoying.

30 years ago, I would have been rocking a setup like yours. These days, I try to keep things simple...

Ofc, now... my computer desk (153cm), has more junk on it than seen at a low grade garage sale.

I see. My default dpi is 1600. 3200 is just for gaming anyway and unusable for everyday browsing. 1600 is enough for wrist flexing across 2 monitors (34" & 27"). Maybe your next post here is a shiny Logitech MX 3s.
