Metrication is finally "hitting" the photo industry - until recently all the screw threads used for tripods and other supports had used mainly 1/4" or 3/8" and the occasional 5/8" [used on Mic connectors and retained on photo boom arms]
My latest tripod from Vanguard Is the best tripod I've owned - I've had it a while but today needed to change the feet to suit the ground I was on, so grabbed a set of 3/8" long spikes and went to fit them, no chance, so automatically assumed It was a 1/4" female thread and grabbed an adapter from my bag - but that would not fit either so went online on Phone to vanguard's site to discover that the threads were M6
Have ordered a few M6 to 3/8" adaptors which are only available in china but are being sent express to me. I should also have some basic tripod feet in M8 fitting tomorrow
Update Scratch the M6 Tripod feet due tomorrow
I checked the amazon item in full detail and although the main header on the sales page stated M8, the details had two options 1/4" and 3/8 Inch - and the were
offering the 1/4" as a universal replacement for the M6 I did check with various industry suppliers, on the web, and they offered either m6 or 1/4, and some actually supply a converter / adaptor between the two sizes - So basically the amazon suppliers in PRC are either incompetent or knowingly misleading potential customers

I just can't resist the $980 total discount.
If I wait for S24U, the value of my S21U will be much lower by then. Oh well...
View attachment 57003
Verizon is giving me $800 for my Note 20 Ultra, plus a $200 discount so I went ahead and bought the 512gig S23 Ultra with 12gig of RAM. Just got it in yesterday. Mine is Phantom Black.
Cost of ownership was $75 bucks for this Mous case since the
Samsung Duo charger still works.
Mous . The craftsmanship on these are great and they fit like a glove. Had one for my Note 20 Ultra, and why I went with them again

Got one of those wireless drills 10 years ago. Just the cheap JobMate brand and still works till today. Really very convenient in tight and high areas.

I have two Craftsmen cordless drills. When the batteries died, I took them to a guy who rebuilt them with battery cells that were better then what the OEMs where. Sadly he closed shop because most batteries today are lithium. My next power tool purchases are going to be a 1/2" drive cordless impact wrench followed by a 3/8" drive cordless ratchet wrench.

I'm a big fan of the classic American TV show Sanford and Son. My son ordered the British show that it was based on, Steptoe and Son. It had to be shipped from the UK so it was way past Father's Day before it was delivered. I've only watched a few episodes from series 1 but I have to say that it's a very funny classic TV show. I have to admit that it's one of the best Father's Day present I ever got.

I can't figure out how to do links, yet.
Also... I copied (on comp), my bookmarks.html from comp to the downloads folder on the SD card in the phone.
I can't figure out how to "import" them into my browser on the phone. [the Samsung internet icon]
I know how to make, edit and delete bookmarks on the Samsung internet, but can't figure out how to get the bookmarks into whatever browser I'm using.
I'm trying to avoid anything Google, anything cloud storage, or anything sync, on the phone.
I'm really a noob at phones, and have no clue what if any security this phone has. :/

I needed a new pair of shoes to go with my fabulous new dress.
And the shoes, but I got them in white:
I think I might just look nice on my future evening out. Or a wedding, or a big fancy work dinner... Who cares? I just want to find an occasion to wear these.
I know, I know, not as exciting as the stuff you guys buy, but I can't buy computer gear all the time. lol

I can "open" bookmarks.html (from FF on my comp), in the phone's downloads folder, and get to my bookmarks from there.
But that's kinda hard. VERY long list when displayed in .html form.
