Solved Outlook Send/Receive taking way too long

Not criticising your suggestion, but I have found the issue with that is if sending and receiving mail takes a couple of minutes (3 in my wifes case, sometimes longer due to the amount of correspondence for her business or my server being crappy) and the check time is shorter than the process, the mail send/recieve will check for mail again before the original request has been completed. This can and has, in my wifes case caused issues, I have seen multiple instances of her Outlook send/receive processes running at once.

It’s all good. Everyone is here to help. You’re not an idiot just because you’re having difficulties. I suspect you couldn’t run before you could walk either, so it’s ok!

You can also add to your new group a “disable send/receive” icon. Look in the all commands part like previously, it starts with “Disable” in the list of add-ons. Just select it and then select your new group, then click “add” like you did for the send receive groups.

IMG_3485.png

Edit:
If you have clicked the disable send receive (like in the pic above) and you close outlook, outlook will not send receive when it starts up again. The icon will still be selected (off) upon restarting the app. Also, you can keep the disable send receive icon on permanently, and still click the send receive button which will check for mail.

You can change the wait time before mail checking.

Yes, I was going by the time selected in Edwins image, 1 min. I think I confused his point. Personally, I like to use the disable send receive which allows for manual checking. But it’s OK. @Edwin knows I’m a nut job.
