The registry is a big, big place. ALL of Windows and the drivers and all your programs live in the registry.
Finding an error in the registry is like finding one specific egg roll in China. :-)
Things like this, are why we make backups.



IF, you decide to do a clean install... during the install, just delete everything off of Disk1, then do the install.

All mine are laptops with a single internal drive, if their drive is at least 250GB I will have a separate Data partition just for their Macrium system images. I find it convenient should I need to do a quick restore. No need to find any external backup drive, and I'll always have a system image with me wherever I take the laptop.

Of course, for security should the drive ever fail I also copy the system images from each laptop to a large external HDD. Currently a 2TB one is sufficient to hold system images of all my machines.

My bad, values added in CP > Internet > Ethernet > Properties > IPV4 > Use following DNS, Earlier would work on Obtain DNS automatically...…?

Make a fresh backup.
Do whatever I want. If I make a boo-boo... restore.
Rinse and repeat till I get whatever I'm trying to do... right.
Then make another backup.

Then I can post things like... all ya have to do is... so and so. :cool:

Why the Read speed is way faster than write during creation vs. it's almost qual during a restore?

Partition management is much more simpler and controllable with 3rd party GUI software

EaseUS Partition Master Free
(all freeware)

Windows is doesn't always have the be-all-and-end-all solution to everything.
