ok i have this laptop i'm now using the elitebook 745 and ryzen 3500u g6 5 pro to type this question with and this only seems to happen on one website but it could be a few more. but on the nextdoor forums when i type something into the reply field i can type ( let's say i'm typing this and i can get this far) before i actually see the lets in that blocked section i just i just typed

but if i'm using my other laptop the letters just show as i type them without any lag in them showing in that field. and both pcs are running 23h2. this pc is the hp elitebook 745 and ryzen 3500u g6 5 pro and the other pc is the hp ryzen 3250u . i asked on that site if any other had that issue and a few seem to have it but i'm leaning on our pcs and not the site, or a lot of folks would be seeing that issue.

now this pc is hard wired to the network running 500mbps and that other pc is wifi at 250mbps so i would think the wifi would have a bit of lag and not the wired pc.

also they are both running ABP ublock origin and adblock extensions. so outside of this pc having some type of keyboard response type issue that only seems to be on that site what else might i look for or might i just want to do a complete reset or restore on this pc and see if it actually clears up.

this pc is also connected to a hp 2013 ultraslim docking station so it may be possible that the docking station is causing this. plus this pc is the only one that gets all those popups i have been complaining about. there is one on ebay and also one on that next door forum and they take up half the viewable screen. that other pc so far is not getting those. and also when i asked about those on the nextdoor forums only a few said they get that popup as well.

also i did unplug this pc from the docking station and ran it on wifi and it is a bit worse, so outside of just getting a different pc or again doing a reset or restore and start with win10 and see if i still get this issue with win10 and then when i again switch to win11 and see if it returns does anyone have a fix or maybe a test to run to see what may be going on? thanks

I followed your other post about the Ebay popup. I, too, get that scan code popup from Ebay ocassionally. As @antspants said, it just another way for them to collect data.

With the typing issue, you mention things it can be, but have you ruled them out? Have you tried an external KB? (possible in this case but not probable since it's one site) For weird isssues like this you use process of elimination. You eliminate everything it can be to get to the root of what is actually causing it.

If the issue is only on one site, Disable your addons and test.
You're running 3 ad-blockers. WHY??? Have you not considered they might conflict with each other? Some sites just won't work right using one adblocker, let alone 3.

Try a different browser that has no addons. If it's still just one site, then the problem is related to THAT site. Maybe try Brave browser.

Scan your system with Malwarebytes to make sure you haven't picked up malware.

You can NOT 100% stop tracking or ads and the sooner you accept that, the better off you'll be. You're not doing your browsers (or your system's performance) any favors by installing multiple addons that do the same thing.

i tried turning them off and i still have that issue. i do not have an external keyboard. as for those popups on all my other pcs i do not see them. i have ran malware bytes and all of windows antivirus programs and i still have this only on this site and i believe one other site that i do not go to vary often.

if you have a favorite malware removal app let me know and i will give that a try. and i will also run it on my backup as i may have something there.

before i installed win11 on this pc i hardly ever got those popups and ublock origin did a great job of removing them not until i got win11 did i start getting all of this stuff. thanks

I would test it from my end, but personally I do not trust the site enough to establish a login.

Looks like phone users have reported this exact issue using NextDoor for 5 months.
I think you're spinning your wheels if the issue is related to one site. However, you asked for other scanners so here goes.

thanks i will try them now i did malwarebyte and that came up clean and i have microsoft malicious software tool running. but i will down load those other and run them.

thanks for that info on the nextdoor app. i do not use the phone only the pc but for what it is worth i do not have that issue on any other pc only this pc i'm replying with. this is the hp elitebook 5 pro with the amd ryzen cpu 3500u but i would not think this would be the reason. but you never know. also some other on the site have told me they also have that same issue so it is possible we all have some malware causing that issue.

it seems the tdsskiller is not on that site listed as the tdsskiller. any i was told by the win10 guys last year that i do not need any virus programs anymore because win10 and the figured win11 would be including them in it defender app and the malicious software tool. so if that is true then it seems i would not need all these others. unless windows is not quite up to speed on these issues. thanks

ok i turned off the adblock and it seems a bit better on that site that was giving me fits for slow typing. it is not perfect but better. i'm leaning on this pc has an issue. windows malicious software tool did not find anything and i ran that in the long scan. it took 4 hours and 0 infections.
so i installed that superantispyware ext and ran the app and it found 1353 tracers and 4 pup type issues that seem to be from the car scanner that is a fox scanner and it found thos pup items in that folder anyway i deleted all of them and rebooted the pc. now to see if the issue clears up. if not i will format my backup drive and then recopy all my files to that and then redo this pcs drive and reinstall win10 for starters to see if the issue goes away and then when i put win11 back on if the issue returns and let you know.

so tell me should i let that ext run all the time? now i have APB and ublock and adware but i have adware turned off on the nextdoor site and on for all the other sites and now it seems that superantispyware is running.

oh now when i do a search it seems i have something called startpage doing the searches. i like yahoo search page and not familiar with this start page so is that an actual google type search or something that antispyware likes to use and do i need it?
thanks

I wasn't aware there was a browser extention. Good to know.one.

If it were me, I would not run the SAS because of the way I use my computer and the sites I visit. I believe extentions can cause performance to suffer. But that's just me. Only you can know if that proves to be true for you and the way you run yours. You will have to monitor your browsing experience and find out if it affects you and depending on your concerns, if it's worth any trade off.

ok i running that super anti spyware program and it seems to have changed my search from chrome /yahoo to some other one called startpage. being i'm not familiar with that i want to know if that is good bad or indifferent? i was going to send my sister the website so she can install this app and run it for viruses and up came that new to me search site. and that app found 1332 items trackers in my brothers folder i made on my pcs and only this pc to put his data in when i redid his pc this spring. so maybe one of those is causing my issues. but i'm not sure about that startpage search app. it also found a pup.webcompanion/variant 4 items in the fox scanner program i have for using my car scanner. so that can be an issue also so if this program want to delete all those issues i will let it do its thing. and then see if that issue on the next door forums goes away but should i keep that startpage or can i go back to yahoo for searches?

i had to turn that off as it di make the pc real slow for searches. plus the way it shows the searches was a lot different than i was use to and got me all messed up. so i turned it off and put yahoo back. i can't say yet if it helped on that next door site as being a holiday it seems no one is posting so i do not have a chance to do any replies. for the most part most folks on that site post for help like i'm doing here and i help them like your helping me. i do not seem to have that slow typing type issue on any other sites, or at least most of them it seems only that site. but i will keep trying. i'm starting to lean on this pc as the root issue. and if these scanners you sent me do not help then i will take the drive out and install another drive that has been formatted a few times to make sure it is clean and star tover. if it returns then i will just get another pc and save this one as a backup. thanks

Then good luck to you Bob. You do you. I mean no disrespect here, but I tell it like I see it. For the record, from this and your other threads I believe you have tunnel vision about all this and are shooting yourself in your own foot. Sometimes, we can be our own worst enemy. I've been there, done that, and got a drawer full of t-shirts. For your sake, I hope I am wrong.

no problem i have thick skin and i have at time shot myself in the foot. but like i say it is strange one pc has this issue and the other one is just fine. but to be fair. the other pc did not have that fox scanner app on it so those pup type issues that the superantivirus program found may have been the root issue. when that scan finished and gave me all those items it found i just let the program delete them. so now i will let this run for a few days to see. if it returns like i said i will install another ssd drive so i can start over and see what trouble i get myself into. for what it is worth i have backups and one drive gets me back my apps and files and photos if i need them. i tried to get that superantivirus app to scan my ssd on the usb port but i did not see anything in the app that allow that. if you happen to know how to get it to scan my portable backup drives then i can scan them and if i do have to re install the OS i can just use those backup drives again if the can be scanned thanks fo the help.

The computer Bob lists in his "My Computer" dates from 2011. This could explain a lot.

why would that make any difference? this pc is the hp elitebook 745 amd ryzen 3500u g6 5 pro model. i had old hp probooks 6540b and 6745 and such and never got this. i restarted them the other day to see if i would get the slow typing and those two sites popups. next door and ebay and i did not get those on all the other pcs, only this pc. there has to be some setting or maybe a bit of malware. i went into chrome and did a clean for cookies and settings all the way back as far as chrome allowed me to go. and of course i have to re log onto about half on my sites again.

i have the hp ryzen 3250u and that does not have this issue. the wife has an older win11 ready hp pc and she does not have this issue with slow typing in that sites reply field nor does she get that popup and i do not get that popup on any other pc. so i find it hard to believe the age of the pc will make that issue happen.

Bob. You’ve outdone yourself with overloading your Laptops with unnecessary add-ons etc that have probably degraded your systems. Along the way I wouldn’t be surprised if you have added something compromising to your PC

I don’t say this often but; - Reset your PC and start from scratch.
- Pay for a Malwarebytes subscription and leave it at that.
- Add uBlock (and maybe Adblock) to your browser and leave it at that
- Understand that not everything can be blocked. Companies like eBay have the deepest pockets and employ the best coders.
- Stop being paranoid. Put up with what uBlock can’t block, look past it.
- And lastly; Stop cross posting. I have a feeling you’re burning through members. Posting Win 11 issues on the Ten forum is just taking the forums for granted, especially when you cross post. We are the same members. The forums are owned by the same person. Please note the obvious.

Stop falling for everything you read on the internet
Stop signing up to sites that are built to get/use your data or money. And if you do, live with the condition of the sites. Most adblockers are the same, uBlock is one of the best.
