Hello again,

It seems that I talked too soon unfortunately. After disabling WDV and restarting the PC, I´ve got another BSOD which I´m attaching to this reply.

It might be worth noticing that after rebooting the internal keyboard didn´t turned on. I had to power cycle the PC to get it to work again. This has ocurred in the past seldomly so I don´t think it´s related but still fyi.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Zbook,

Bad news. Today after a couple of weeks workings with no issues, I´ve got not one but 2 BSODs. One in the morning and one a few minutes ago. The only thing I was able to noticed is that the quality update "2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039212)" was downloaded and installed over the weekend and after the obligatory restart, the PC crashed with the BSOD screenshot I´m attaching to this message.

I´m including V2 and Event viewer as well. No additional changes in hardware or software either.

Please advise.
Thanks a lot.

Good Morning @zbook

After almost 2 weeks with no major incidents BSODs are back and more frequent than ever. I had to uninstall updates and restore the PC from the start up options since Windows was not booting up to be able to respond to this message.

I´ve also received BSODs with different error messages which I´m attaching to this message along with:

-BSCR002-(2024-07-05_08-05-50)
-WDV 07-05-2024

Might be worth noting that every time I get a BSOD the internal keyboard stops working and, more recently, Chrome won´t start up no matter what (I had to use Firefox to post this message). I need to shut down (not reset) the PC in order to get them both back to work.

The last BSOD was shown inmediatly after running WDV.

Please advise.
Thanks.

Over two weeks passed since the last post.

There were no reports of computer instability seen between 06/26 and 07/01 (approximately one week).

BSOD restarted on 07/02.

The verifier /querysettings link in post #30 indicated that WDV was not running.

Can you use the computer for several days without WD Elements 2621 USB Device and with an empty smart card reader.

Then for any computer instability post a new V2 share link.

Thanks for your response.

I´ll test the PC wiht your recommendations and let you know.

However, I don´t think the issue is related to either the external WD drive or a smart reader but rather a Windows update since after restoring the machine to a point previous to a Windows Update it started working up until to day.

The problem is that I can only pause updates for a limited number of days before they become mandatory and its there when the issues start.

Any thoughts please let me know.

The BSOD bugchecks that have occurred are most often related to problematic drive, drive cable, drive connection, etc. so check stability / instability with an unattached WD Elements 2621 USB Device and with an empty smart card reader.

In addition, make free or pay backup images:

(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)
