I want to have a standalone version of Office instead of Office 365 because our Internet is often down. In the olden days I used Office 2007 for about a decade. I know that was a much lower risk period. During much of it I had no internet anyway.
Then in the next period I read that the risk in unsupported Office versions was in Macros, and now also in collaboration and probably in received files.
Presently, on my soon-to-retire Windows 10, Trend software checks my incoming files.
On Windows 11, I do not plan to use Office macros or collaboration. Will either my Windows antivirus or something Like Trend, protect me while using an unsupported version of Office?
