Solved Second monitor not working after NVIDIA and or Windows update

You’re doing just fine, thank you, Dayna.

I am just trying to establish if both monitors are plugged into the same card. Some PC’s come with onboard graphis, which is seperate to the card.

So are they both plugged into the bottom or is one plugged in at the bottom and one at the top

On the properties tab where it has driver details it says I can roll the driver back however I am hesitant now I am in this mess.
Will my computer run if I uninstall it?

Do you have the old driver you had installed, still on your PC

The bottom line is, your monitors worked before you updated now they don’t.
You haven’t messed with the configuration therefore there is in my opinion, nothing wrong with it.

Rolling back the driver should be fine.
Regardless, there is an onboard graphics display with your PC at the top to plug your monitor into if you run into a problem.

The worst that can happen (hopefully) is if a problem arises as a result, you may have to enable the intel graphics in your BIOS and plug a monitor in at the top (my pic)
When there is a second card in a PC, it usually takes preference over the Onboard one by default.

In short, roll back the driver. Although it says you can, it may not work.
It would be easier if for some reason you still have the old driver for the Graphics card.

Not sure where you can download older Nvidia Drivers. Someone here may know.
Possibly from the HP support site, I think there is a driver from 2020

How long since you updated it previous to the recent update, to get an idea of what version that could be searched?

What I think I see there is an HDMI connection and a DVI connection.

If the card is like this one, its DVI port is DVI-I, which means that it has both digital and analog signals present.

The GT 730 is on legacy support. Driver Details | NVIDIA I've always used drivers direct from nVidia for desktop graphics cards. (Laptops may be more customized.)

I have no idea why you're just seeing one monitor. If you uninstall the current drivers, nothing bad should happen. It could revert to the Microsoft Basic drivers, which will work (probably with poor performance).

Hi,
I am a newbie to these issues so please bear with me in advance.
I have a HP DESKTOP-MVF3HHI with an Office 365 subscription that I use purely for creating documents. I have always used two Samsung monitors without any problems.
For ages I have been receiving notifications that the NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 driver needs updating. A couple of months ago I followed the process and not all the drivers updated. Two days ago I updated the driver from the NVIDIA website it installed and restarted with no problems. Yesterday I had a large update from Windows and now after restarting only one monitor works.
The monitor displays the text: No Signal Analog check the cable connection and the settings of the source device.
I have unplugged everything and changed the cord which is HDMI connection from the monitor and a VGA (D-Sub) (I think) going into the computer end if that makes sense. Windows does not detect the second monitor however in the NVIDIA control panel it registers two monitors.
I don’t know what to do and would greatly appreciate any advice please.

One last question please
Is there a preferable way to roll back the driver before I start?

If/after you rollback the driver you can then go into Windows update and check for updates. If a driver isn’t offered, then try in:

And one should hopefully be offered in there.

Your PC was shipped with Windows 10. The most recent driver for your PC at the HP support site is NVIDIA GeForce Driver for VR (Windows 10 v1909)

Thats OLD. Feb 13, 2020. But should work.

Only because I don’t understand, could you please explain why doing that is relevant to an issue with an updated graphics driver? The monitors worked up until the update.

Hi,
I am a newbie to these issues so please bear with me in advance.
