Secure Boot disable nightmare heads up

That also means Windows 11 did NOT auto enroll (encrypt your drive) you into BitLocker being the drive was already encrypted.

FWIW My bit locker was off in Windows 10 and after a clean install it is still off in Windows 11. Also I had to turn off Secure Boot to get my USB to install from a UUMP download that was a batch file ran on Command Prompt to create the .ISO See below:

I have done clean installs of Windows 11 Pro on a laptop and a desktop with TPM and secure boot enabled. It did not encrypt the drive in any way.

Please read posts #1, #3, and #8. (yeah I missed it too).

The OP has a Microsoft Surface laptop which was "already" factory encrypted. It appears the OP didn't notice this and "assumed" Windows 11 automatically encrypted their drive, which was not the case. The laptop was already encrypted.
