Solved Send To Context, Email Not Working

Windows 11 23h2 fully up to date, Thunderbird Version 128.5.2esr (LATEST) When in win explorer, right click context menu, send to, mail recipient produces error "no email program is associated.........despite Thunderbird being set as default both in it's settings and in windows settings app defaults with all file types registered,
THUNDERBIRD works fine otherwise.
Any ideas, solutions?

When you search in Default Apps and choose MAILTO, does Thunderbird show in the box?

Next..., is Thunderbird registered here...

Finally..., does it say Thunderbird here...

BINGO!!!!! We have a winner

That reg location had nothing, added in "Mozilla Thunderbird" and that fixed it all, 2 minute fix, that I have F....ing with all day.

Can someone help me with this.. I reinstalled thunderbird twice.. its set as default its in the registry clean win 11 install.win 11 pro... ive been trying now to fix.. even with the sendto add app.. no luck at all... when I did try .. its completely missing there is no maill option in send to like win 10 previously...pleasse help

I was having the same problem with my Thunderbird and posted it on this forum some time ago. No solution was offered

I also informed Microsoft.

About 2 weeks ago the issue suddenly corrected itself.

My wife did not have the issue.

The only difference was that I did a clean installation of 24H2 and in my wife's case I did an upgrade to24h2 with a USB stick.

mine is not correcting..NO matter what I do... mail isnt showing up at all.. tried the mail recipient from above still no go

staye dup for 8 hrs..3 or 4 with Microsoft support... only fix was a clean install of win 11 pro... only way I/We could fix.... and works with Thunderbird now.. It wouldnt work with Nothing, new outlook,TBG,Bluemail..etc etc etc...just a update..Rick

reinstallation was definitely not necessary for a context menu issue.. but glad its working now

I have a separated ssd with window 11 pro which I call "practise". I have a clean installation of windows 11. Today I installed thunderbird and made it a default program Send to does not work!

reach out to MS chat..they will help...a custom re install was the only way we coukld fix it.... if ya want email me a #..i can text ya a few pics of it....but it was the only way afte 2 weeks..

create a custom shortcut (this is for outlook, but replace with corresponding paths to thunderbird) and add this to your Shell:SendTo folder

none of that worked. every tyime tried to add a short cut..send to would disappear...
