There's a BIOS update for my card (Gigabyte 4080 Gaming OC rev1.0) which improves the fans:

I honestly have never updated the BIOS for a GPU and considering updating the BIOS for a GPU is risky I'd appreciate it if I can get some detailed step by step instructions on how to do it safely or should I just skip updating it?

No risk at all, i did with my Asus RTX 3060 when Asus issued a BIOS update for it, it's released by the manufacturer and of course you can trust it, though what confuses me is the strange progressive numbering, the new one is lower than the old one and they have the same dimension, isn't any notes?

Never mind didn't know I had to stretch the GPU-Z window for my current BIOS version to show.

So the cards current BIOS is F11

I'm confused does this mean the card doesn't need any of the existing updates?

It seems so, being your BIOS number within the range of the updated cards. But you are right it's really confusing. I would contact their support just to let them know how confusing are the info they give for their products.

I suspect the bios update revision update has to be incremental. So rather than jumping for the original bios to the latest is not possible. You have to update an earlier vbios followed by updating to a newer vbios. Unsure however.

Since one is for a firmware update, and the other is for a BIOS update I'd check both boxes for installation. Shouldn't be an issue.

I too have GCC installed but it's for my board only since I don't own a Gigabyte video card.

Good luck.

If you're talking about GCC (Gigabyte Control Center) you'll have to install it yourself. Or, if you have a new board like the Z890 Aorus Xtreme, the software will download itself to your system if you enable the feature in the BIOS. Can't say what it does if you only have a Gigabyte GPU.

I have GCC installed and I do have a Gigabyte motherboard in addition to the GPU. Apparently, my GPU doesn't need a BIOS update, I did find the display of all the BIOS versions, apparently all up to date.

Just installed both updates with GCC. The GPU's BIOS is now updated to F12.

I have a Gigabyte GPU. Their web site lists 3 BIOSes for my card. However, not all BIOS updates are available for a given card. (Like in your Post 11.) And they don't list the BIOS number that is displayed by GPU-Z or other utilities. ("F11" doesn't tell me what I'd like to know.)

Even though I also have a Gigabyte motherboard, I avoid GCC. Their RGB Fusion utility can be used to set the card up. I wouldn't have used that, except the default scheme cycled through the colors too frenetically. (The utility doesn't need to be active for the card to retain the settings.)
