Always nice when they bump you for free.I was surprised a couple of days ago. I'm subscribed with Xfinity (Comcast) at 1200/200 Mbps down/up.
The service was just upgraded to 2000/300, without any notice to me. Depending on which Speedtest server I visit, I've seen up to 20% more than the nominal rates.
It's too bad that I don't really need anything like that.
I guess Comcast is trying to avoid defections to (Frontier) fiber.
I haven't gone over Comcast's cap yet, even after switching to 100% streaming TV.Always nice when they bump you for free.
I just looked at xfinity in my area for fun, and the best plan I can get is Gigabit Extra, which is 1200/40. The intro price is $95 a month for 2 years and then regular price is listed as $125 a month after that. Looks like Comcast still has the 1.2TB cap...which is a real bummer. I average about 1.7TB most months.
I'm presently with a different provider and I have 500/50 on my plan. I have no data cap. I pay $55 a month. They offer faster packages, but I honestly don't see any reason for it. I work from home, my kid does school from home, we have gaming consoles, 2 PC gamers and we stream 100% of our TV, all of my music comes from Amazon Music. My package handles my needs well.
I am eager to see some fiber options, I'd like to get my 50Mb/s upload speed increased as I am an office 365 user with OneDrive and could certainly use more upload. Right now, i have 0 fiber options to my house.
I pay £38 per month for 900 mb/s and a 5G mobile plan with 100GB data, unlimited calls and texts (£10 of the £38).COX highspeed home. Not sure if this if fibre or not. Cox says not. But, they have installed fibre in the neighborhood over a year ago.
Today @4:26PM EST USA, HAMPTON ROADS, VA Why has the price of this speed doubled from 53/mo to 109/mo. no answer from Cox. Most other providers now charging 93 and up for this kind of service.
