Phone Sign in or Sign out of Manage Mobile Devices in Windows 11

Cross_Device_banner.png

This tutorial will show you how to sign in or sign out of Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account in Windows 11.

If you turn on Allow this PC to access your mobile devices, you will be able to link and manage your mobile devices directly from your PC. This link between your Android device and PC provides instant access to your mobile device.

It is required to sign in to Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account before you are able to link (add) and manage your mobile devices from your PC.

Starting with Windows 11 version 24H2, you can now sign out of Manage Mobile Devices if you wanted to stop using Manage Mobile Devices with your Microsoft account on the PC.

Reference:

Here's How:

1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on Bluetooth & devices on the left side, and click/tap on Mobile devices on the right side. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on the Manage devices button. (see screenshot below)

The Manage devices button will be disabled and grayed out if Allow this PC to access your mobile devices is not turned on.

I may be wrong, but judging by the news and active promotion of this line. Now for some reason Capilot+ on mobile processors is, so to speak, in trend with Microsoft. I even saw an official article on some functions (recall, etc.) where there was a note that even if you have a PC with Capilot+, then on a mobile processor this function already works, but those who have Capilot+ on Intel and AMD processors should wait until November.
Actually, why I don’t want to update until I receive a message about the update, perhaps my PC does not meet some requirements for the update, and by forcibly updating the system I will get some problems or failures. So far, during the time of using the PC, I have found this inability to use the phone camera in the system.
Therefore, I am trying to collect more information to make a decision about updating to 24H2.

It's usually best to wait for an update to become available via Windows Update in case it was blocked by safeguard for a known issue for your PC.

Yes, that's what I'll do. I think it will be the most adequate solution in my case.
I would like to somehow find out what the problem is with "mobile device management". Maybe it's some policy or registry entry that prevents it from working, because for some reason it doesn't see my account. And since it's an OEM Windows and was installed at the factory, maybe they changed something and didn't install a clean image. But I can't find anything on this topic at all.
I checked the system files and image storage.

I'm going to vote a bug. I've seen it work in some, but not others with no reason why the difference.

I don't have a bug report. Just the experience of seeing "Manage Mobile Devices" crash and close for no reason on some devices and not others.

I guess I didn't formulate it right. You wrote above that you can send a bug report to Microsoft, but when I read how everything works there, it turns out that everyone who feels like it sends them messages, and then the author's "achievements" come into play, as well as the number of people who support with their votes that yes, such a bug exists. And accordingly, Microsoft engineers pay attention to such things.
So I wanted to vote for such a bug.
