Your English is so good, you could even pass for a Brit! xxxThere is definitely a language barrier here, sir. If US English were your native language, you would have understood what I was talking about.
I pride myself in that I consider my grammar pretty good, but instead of boasting, I try to be sure there are no errors in my writing. I was at the head of my class in spelling and English in elementary school, but that's neither here nor there. Again, I will say: I say tomato, you say tomahto. What that means is that we have differing ways of saying things. There's that word again!
I discover new things every day, not necessarily within the realm of computers and software. Some of those "new things" have been around for aeons but I haven't come across them before. They are new to me! Thus, "I'm discovering new things." I have recently discovered a lot of "new things"
Let's say Microsoft just added a new feature to the Snipping Tool and included lots of new ways to use it. Let's also say that Microsoft has been busily adding new features to the Snipping Tool for the past six months. Let's further say I have just discovered the Snipping Tool.
Every time I use the Snipping Tool to create illustrations for the tutorials I write for my Senior Citizen students I find something new I can use. After awhile, I've found multiple ways to work on the tutorials using the Snipping Tool.
I go to ElevenForum and say that I really like the Snipping tool, that I'm learning lots of new things. And what do I get? I'm taken to task for being so stupid as to like the Snipping Tool someone else considers as garbage. We won't rehash all that, though.
The bottom line is that I'm taken to task for my description of what I'm learning. I'm told that people are not my students. Even today I'm told again that I'm using the wrong phraseology. And to top it off, I get a raised fist with three exclamation points behind it! What am I supposed to think?
With all due respect, instead of trying to correct my grammar/descriptions, you could have asked what I meant. I see things that word again! like misspelled words, bad grammar, every day, but I don't dare to correct them. Especially not in public! And nor would I attempt to correct someone whose native language is not the same as mine!
If you don't mind I have to leave my system for the next 2 hours, my uncle called me (my mother's brother). I'll reply. Apology.@atinfo
Hi. Would you please fill in your system specs?
And it would be great to know where you live, your first language and what other languages you speak. You could add this to your profile.
I hope you don't leave this forum as I see you have many posts and many 'likes'.
You did annoy me by telling me, with no evidence, that my Snipping Tool was out of date. So, do not make assumptions
Your English is excellent.
HaHaHa!Your English is so good, you could even pass for a Brit! xxx
I'm trying hard to upgrade my whole system, if the US sanction rules let me make enough budget for it! It (sanction) has crushed the people's economy not the government's economy!Hi. Would you please fill in your system specs?
I was trying to tell you (indirectly) a little bit about me in another thread but Brink removed them all (because of my political words there). I'm 75 kilograms (to some extent) handsome pure muscles with a height of 1.80 m! Without an epsilon fat! We live (my parents and I, also my younger sister) in the north of Persia (Iran), in a small town (population about 150 K), 8 kilometres away from the Caspian Sea. Our house has a 500 m distance from the jungle and a 1 km distance from the green mountains chain. My first (native) language is Persian. And it would be great to know where you live, your first language and what other languages you speak. You could add this to your profile.
Actually, those rankings do mean nothing to me (absolutely no offence to anybody or any ranking system!). I mean why do I have to be very important?! Cause I'm an old user from 10F?! Why do I have to carry the name "Power User"? Does it mean I know better/more than you?! Assigning a rank to someone is like sowing the seeds of discrimination. Big thanks for the likes people send to me.I hope you don't leave this forum as I see you have many posts and many 'likes'.
I'm wondering how you interpreted the worst scenario! I didn't say your ST (Snipping Tool) is outdated. At the time I was reporting the bug (on the other thread with evidence, link above) the stable version of ST was not the 2310.54.0. I thought your version had to be an earlier version! Then I said you probably are on an earlier/older version. You did annoy me by telling me, with no evidence, that my Snipping Tool was out of date. So, do not make assumptions![]()
If you are joking about me, OK. I'm good with itYour English is excellent.
No, I am not joking. Don't be so defensive. I know the Persians are no Arabs. I love the culture of Persians. If you are joking about me, OK. I'm good with it.
I wanted to start a joke to make us laugh. No, I am not joking. Don't be so defensive.
Many thanksI know the Persians are no Arabs. I love the culture of Persians.
I'm a true southerner . . . I probably type faster than I can talk.Do you lot talk quickly or slowly in arr-can-sass?
And that's Ar-kan-saw to you. Well to everyone; that's the way the natives pronounce it. (I'm a Texan, transplanted to Arkansas.).Do you lot talk quickly or slowly in arr-can-sass?
I know that,And that's Ar-kan-saw to you. Well to everyone; that's the way the natives pronounce it. (I'm a Texan, transplanted to Arkansas.).![]()
Did you take this one in "Rectangle" mode or "Window" mode? It should be in "Rectangle" mode.View attachment 81616
yes it can!
I know, but there could be some who would pronounce Arkansas literally. Especially since Ar is added to Kansas. Ar-Kansas . . . I've heard news casters on TV mispronounce more than one state's name . . .I know that,![]()
I used to call it the way it is spelt for years, until I saw a movie that enlightened me about the way it is pronounced.I know, but there could be some who would pronounce Arkansas literally. How do you pronounce Worcestershire sauce correctly? It works both ways - Americans have trouble with Worcestershire sauce.
Michigan and Connecticut are sometimes mispronounced by Brits.
What is the correct pronunciation of Las Vegas? Is it Loss or Lass? I hear conflicting opinions.Mish-i-gun and conn-net-i-cut. I've heard Mitch-i-gan occasionally and some pronounce the middle c in Connecticut.
I went to school in Worcester which is pronounced wooster and the county is wooster-sha not shy-er. Non-natives tend to say worcestershire to rhyme with spire.
Similarly, Gloucester is pronounced gloster and Bicester is bister.
