Yes, tons of Linux out there. Been doing Linux myself since 1999. My Red Hat Certified Engineer was the toughest exam I ever took.

I work more with Linux now than I do Windows.

I used to wait a month or so after a service pack would release, but ever since they want to just patches via windows updates, I've been on automatic updates and have never considered turning them off.

YOIKS!!! :oops: Man, I gotta say things must really be different at the server level in good ole USA because here, on the home front, activating automatic updates is like practically signing your own death warrant. In fact, just two days ago I had to disable Windows update on my wife's Haswell/Sabertooth build because auto update somehow magically got turned on and it kept "fixing" things that resulted in BSOD loops. Mind, she's using Win 10 but that's no excuse. Now that Windows Screw-you-updates has been disabled all is well on the home front and dinner was delicious.

It's because 1/ the truth is that all the knowledgeable users have moved from Rufus to Ventoy, and 2/ most users can't handle the truth.

On servers, we manage the updates through an enterprise tool rather than windows update straight up.....but we certainly do patch the boxes and keep them current.

My home stuff has been a breeze. Especially on 8, 10 and 11. Everything just set to automatic. I've had my desktop for 4 years at Christmas(Windows 10) and I've blue screened 2 times in 4 years. Stable as a rock.
