StartAllBack For Windows 11 has been released.
It's an RC release. I haven't tested it yet as I have Start11 installed.

Edit: I have now tested it. It's working quite well.
Apart from a great start menu, you can also have the Enhanced Classic Taskbar back.
This means (for example) that you can have an uncombined and unlocked Taskbar.
You will now also be able to enhance the Taskbar clock using T-Clock Redux or similar.
T-Clock Redux Tray Clock_.png

You can also change Windows Explorer to Ribbon UI or Simple UI.

You can get it Download

Yesterday, I made a boo-boo, not even sure what the heck I did, but, I ended up doing a factory reset, (boy, it's nice to have a fresh start), anyway...,
not nearly as many tweaks now, and SAB along side of QTTabBar is running perfectly smooth on 25915! And fast too!!! It's great having a clean slate!!!

Oh no no no. It takes me two weeks to get my system back the way I want it if everything is reset. And that copy your settings nonsense in Windows simply doesn't work.

I have "automatically download and install updates" ticked but it isn't doing it. I was still on 3.6.11, I clicked check for updates, and a windows notification then asked if I wanted to download and install. Shouldn't this be silently updating? Or does it only check once a week?

Hi I have been using explorer patcher but the updates seem to be taking a long time so I am thinking of swapping to StartAllBack and don't mind paying for a license.

Just wanted to check if anyone knows how the license key works if I change laptops in the future.

I plan to buy 2 keys. 1 for PC and 1 for laptop. However, I change my laptop every 6-12 months. Will I have to keep buying new keys every time I change laptops, or can I deactivate it on my old laptop and activate on new laptop without having to buy a new key each time?

It works fully without the license. The license is something you buy if you want to be honest. Buy two, then if the laptop claims it hasn't been paid for when you change computer, ignore it.

It works fully without the license

Just for the trial period though right? After that do you still maintain full functionality? Is it like Winrar where they just ask if you want to buy a full license? lol

Either way I paid the $8.99 USD for 2 licenses so we'll see what happens when its time to change laptops.
Well worth the price for the work the person has put into it.

Full functionality, but it shows this every time you unlock the screen, come out of sleep, start the computer etc. Not much of a hassle considering how much stuff gets in your way nowadays. Update windows! Buy this! Alter that! Add 2 factor authentication! Enter the number from your phone to prove it's you! Pick the photos with traffic lights! It's amazing anyone ever gets anything done!

So if you had say 3 computers, you could choose to buy no license, one, three, or even twenty because you love them so much.

Any way to stop taskbar buttons from the same program grouping together? I can't seperate them:

Is there a way to disable the recommendations from the Win11 start menu? I don't see any feature like that in StartAllBack, but is there any solution that is compatible with StartAllBack?

StartAllBack has it's own start menu and there you won't see those recommendations.
So you'll have to take your time to realise an acceptable start menu via StartAllBack.
There are more programs that have a alternative start menu, I use Open Shell for that.
But you better not combine StartAllBack with Open Shell.
Thats what the maker of StartAllBack explains in his topic here several times.

In future, Microsoft will push advertisements in their Windows 11 star menu recommended section, so I read in one of the many Release topics @Brink has posted recently! I forgot which one.

In the future there will be even more (if you don't disable them).
MS will make the ads dependent on browsing habits, of course that would only be possible when browsing using the build in Edge browser.
But O&O Shutup knows how to handle with those ads, I never see any. If I purposely use the Windows 11 startmenu, normally I have my own composed startmenu via Open Shell.

So Microsoft are doing what Sky TV does in the UK. Charge you for the service and also bombard you with adverts. I dislike being billed twice for the same service.

I've just updated to the newest available Win 11 version and I'm not in the dev channel or anything never again ever since I had a BOSD from it last year straight from the Windows update preview it updated restarted and had a BOSD, lmao. Anyways, I did notice a strange bug that has something to do with the "Use enhanced classic taskbar" feature where my volume icon disappears into my clock so it looks like a very tiny space in between my Wifi icon and the clock. Only way I managed to fix it was installed "Ear Trumpet" and then I moved it over the whole way to the right like where I want it to be next to my clock and moved it way over past the clock almost and the Default icon came back! So something weird is going on here lmao. I guess I will just keep Eartrumpet installed for now it is moving my default icon over so at least I found a temporary solution haha. Man, I honestly miss the Win 7 & 8 days. Couldn't even update my BIOS without having Windows Hello Pin problems had to somehow enable local hidden admin account and then login to make a new user admin account just to have to set everything up again in Windows lmao. 😂😩 Welp, at least I didn't loose anything still had access to my old Microsoft user account folder which I was surprised by since it was a normal "Local" account. Even my "Appdata" folder. Sigh, at least that's all over with. (Sorry little off-topic but maybe somebody can understand my pain.) Oh yeah, forgot to mention windows detected a hardware change as well which deactivated my Windows in addition to all of this. Fixed that pretty quick tho on a hand website I found. (MAS) ;-) Honestly I think this is for the better tho, my old User profile needed a good cleaning anyways... Now I don't ever think I am gonna update my BIOS till my next PC build in a few years tbh unless I really need to, not sure why I did in the first place everything was running fine but I was on a Dec / Jan 2022 bios version so I thought I'd better.

Today it is so simple to create a local administrator account, rufus does this for you automatically when you create a bootable pendrive with it, it gives you the options for this, without having to touch the windows admin account.
I only create pendrives like this, and I leave my Windows without a password or pin, much more practical to use.

I have "automatically download and install updates" ticked but it isn't doing it. I was still on 3.6.11, I clicked check for updates, and a windows notification then asked if I wanted to download and install. Shouldn't this be silently updating? Or does it only check once a week?
Today, when I checked for updates, I got a message telling me that a quality update is available (3.6.13). It doesn't install silently, and hasn't done so for a while now. I have to first download the new version by clicking on the Download now button, which will take me to startisback.sfo3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/StartAllBack_3.6.13_setup.exe
I then have to install the program manually.

I have in the past enabled "Automatically download and install updates" when installing the program.

It has been like this for a while now. And I failed to fix this problem despite trying to first uninstall and then reinstall the application. It works well on my other computer, though.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I am having an issue where after i wake up my computer from sleep the whole of explorer is busted. I have to either reboot to get StartAllBack working again or uninstall/reinstall.

I do have 2 monitors
Symptoms:
- the taskbar is not saving its position and swaps to the 'Primary' monitor
- explorer address bar is not readable or bugged out with overlapping text
- i am unable to work in the StartAllBack properties

If i try to open the Properties i am unable to maneuver in the window as it is just stuck on the Taskbar tab and i am unable to do anything else with the application.

Seems very severe as i never had these issues with just the 1 monitor
