Subtitles not working with media players "VLC or Windows Media Player" but work on other laptop

I have 2 laptops one windows 10 and one windows 11 I'm currently on the windows 11 writing this post. I have a "Downloaded Video" I'm trying too play on my windows 11 laptop since the windows 10 runs a bit loud. So I'm trying to keep the windows 10 off as much as I can. I only have 1 laptop stand currently so the 10 runs a bit hot.

Here is the issue:
I have the video in a folder and I have the subtitled file in the same folder. I have both files named the same and everything should be fine but nope. The subtitles will not show on "VLC Media Player" or "Windows Media Player" I just took the folder I have the 2 files into and placed them onto a flash drive and moved them to the windows 10 laptop and clicked on the video file and the subtitles work fine. No issue.

So I don't think the issue is with the way the files are.
I also checked both media players on the windows 11 laptop and still nothing "I understand if one player did not work but having issues with both. I kind of think its with the windows some where".
Plus I have another movie I tried to play on this same computer about a week or so ago and noticed the same issue. I thought it was in the movie since I don't normally run subtitle srt files. But nope even with this video same issue. So both of these videos will not work on the windows 11 but both work on the windows 10. Any advice on what to look into would be great thank you.

I checked both Media Player and VLC. They both work fine.
Media Player does not play subtitle automatically, you need to click on the square box left to the volume and select the subtitle.
For VLC, Select preference->Subtitle and put a check mark on Enable subtitle.

I already have subtitles turned on for both vlc and windows media play. And the setting are the same for both laptops in the media player setting.

For testing purpose. Can you download another version of VLC then use 7-zip to unzip to your desktop, run and test it there.
VLC is a self extracting program so you don't need to run the installer, this will separate of what you currently have installed in your PC.

Is the .srt file in the same folder as the basic video. Have you enabled subtitles. Have you loaded the .srt file -- When you installed W11 the VLC settings might have been set to their default values

Sorry for the late reply I have been using the free renamer program called Rename My TV Series for a few years now but am still a bit new to .srt files. Here is how I use the .srt files.
(1) I rename TV Show episodes with the program
(2) Once the .mp4 files have been renamed I then move all of the .srt files to the same area as all of the episodes
(3) I then right click on the first episode that has subtitles and I right click on the .mp4 file and click rename and then highlight copy and click off
(4) I then find the same episodes .srt file and rename it with what I just copied
(5) Once all episodes with subtitles are renamed and there matching .srt files are renamed I then make new folders
(6) Example if there are 10 episodes I will hit "New Folder" 10 times so my folders look like this Videos\TV Shows\ABC123\Season 1\New Folder "New Folder" is episode 1" and then "New Folder (1)" is episode 2 and so on until all episodes are done.
(7) Each folder only has (2) files the "Renamed TV Show Episode" and then the "Renamed .srt File".

This works fine on my Windows 10 laptop but when I move the TV Show "ABC123"" to a hard drive or flash drive and try playing from the drive or playing after transferring the TV Show to Videos on Windows 11 it dose not work for subtitles. Even though the subtitles are turned on for both the "Windows Media Player" and the "VLC Media Player".

Use Media Player Classic HomeCinema (MPC-HC) with madVR renderer, both of which are included in K-Lite Codec Pack Full. The installer of this Pack will guide you through most of the settings, and all of these settings also are available in the programs/tools that you can choose to be installed. It also conveniently lets you choose what you want to install/remove. So, you can simply run the installer again later if you change your mind about something. What's more, it can optionally detect and fix a variety of video playback related problems that you might have, including problems related to DirectVobSub (and that might be the culprit here). The Pack installs these configuration shortcuts in the Start menu by default:
