He didn't say how much time he spent ensuring the base system was working 100% reliably and properly before the customizations, but he probably left that part out of the video, exactly because else it would be long winded.@hdmi , those videos are hilarious...and long winded...
They're so heavily customizing everything that no wonder everything falls apart. They didn't even ensure the base system was working 100% reliably and properly, before customizing everything.
Do you mean to tell me that you found an easy way to get DaVinci Resolve working on Arch Linux with an Nvidia RTX 4090 in such a particular way that didn't require to sacrifice all those customizations that he said he needs to have in conjunction with DaVinci Resolve on it? That was his goal.I've installed Arch both manually and using the archinstall script, and didn't have all these issues. Neither did I have these issues in my LFS installs.
That was also my point. You sneeze on it, it breaks. Next, you try to use your duct tape for getting it fixed, only to find out that duct tape just doesn't want to cling to a greasy penguin. So, you go to the store to find super glue, but they are all sold out. And by the time you finally found it, as a direct result of being long winded, everyone has already switched from Linux to freeBSD.And yeah Ubuntu falls apart and breaks every time you modify it a bit too much.

But but.. wouldn't that have made it long winded?Never did I see this dude solving package conflicts either...
