Taskbar missing

Hi Group , I booted up my Dell XPS this morning and noticed that the taskbar is missing. I searched around and there plenty of hits but no solutions. Could this be from a windows update? I appreciate your help.

Hello,

Double check using option three below to make sure the explorer process is running. If it's not running, the taskbar will be gone.

Did you already see if restarting the computer may sort it if just a glitch?

Just to confirm, does the taskbar appear if you move the pointer to the bottom of the screen in case it may be hidden or tablet-optimized turned on?

I have tried many tips I have seen online. Some say it is connected to a windows update. Is there a chance That MS will issue an update to fix this. Will we end up re-installing windows?

Since this has just recently happened, you could try doing a system restore below using a restore point (if available) dated before this happened to undo and hopefully fix it.

When it boots to desktop, there is a small window, says cannot ad icon to taskbar. I dont know what it means, if anything. Still no taskbar.
