Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (Build 26100.2605)
Hi Folks: I'm using Windows 11 (version 21H2) [Build 22000-2538]. I've used every version of Windows since it could fit on a floppy disk! After using Windows 10 for a couple of years, I decided to try out Win 11. I have several desktop computers, with Windows 11 installed on two. Problem: ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2023 cannot open any images (png, jpg, gif, bmp, etc,). I've used ACDSee software for years on all versions of Windows. On both Win 11 computers, ACDSee will not open images. I've tried: "Compatibility Mode". Reinstalling/uninstalling the software. Checking to make sure that ACDSee is set as the "default" app. Some suggested Registry fixes. Nothing seems to work. This version of ACDSee is full compliant/compatible with Win 11. I've tried a host of troubleshooting methods. None are working. So perhaps, someone may have a suggestion or two? BTW, this issue does not exist on Win 10. Thanks.

Have you looked to ACDSee support to see what they have on said issue? I find it strange ACDSee would not open images under Windows.

Anyway, I no longer use it, so I can't speak on a fix.

Thanks glasskuter. I've decided to move on from ACDSee on Windows 11 & installed xNview (freeware). I have thousands of photos and had always used ACDSee for quick views. XNview basically does the same function.

Hi antspants. No, that wasn't it. I really don't know why ACDSee doesn't open images. However, I've decided to use xNview. It's surprisingly quick at viewing my vast collection of photos. If I want to get fancy with a photo, I use Adobe Photo Shop. Thanks for your input.

I say again, I find it hard to believe "ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2023" won't open images.

Where did you get the app from? Also this says a file is missing. Did you try reinstalling the program and registering it online?

ACDSee missing file.jpg

BTW, I just double checked and as I suspected, the app is certainly Windows 11 supported - acdID - Photo Studio Professional 2023 Product Support - ACD Systems

Lastly, do you have the latest patch?

It just seems strange you would abandon such an expensive product so fast.

I've been using ACDSee for many years. As a long time user, I've been offered upgrades at discounted prices by the publisher. And yes, I installed the latest "patches", and reinstalled numerous times.
It just seems strange you would abandon such an expensive product so fast.
I did not "abandon" the product. As I mentioned, it's working fine on my Windows 10 computers. Just not on the two Win `11 computers. I use ACDSee for one purpose; to view, edit & catalog thousands of family photos; many of which I use Photoshop for projects. I have little patience these days for stuff that's not working. Years ago, I would have spent a lot of time troubleshooting the issue, but don't have a lot of time nowadays. I custom-build all of my computers, and plan on installing a new Windows 11 build on the latest. I'll keep you posted on whether the problem with ACDSee replicates. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
