A new SS drive was installed on my four year old Samsung laptop so of course I have to install all my programs. I'm not liking this TB, does not look same as what I was using when I had Win 11 installed!! (I'm working on getting Win 11 back but it wouldn't install last night) I don't recall previous TB versions having "esr". Not sure why I have three TB installed and I can't uninstall using programs and features.

Windows Build/Version

Have you checked with Thunderbird about the uninstalling issue?

The "esr" usually means something in the nature of Extended Support Release, will get updates for a longer period. It usually is good unless later on you find a feature in a newer version that is desirable.

Before dealing with reinstalling programs I'd get Windows working first, either version as desired. Downside, you may have to do clean install.

I'll have to search on how to check with TB. Win 10 is working but don't like it. Not sure why the tech installed Win 10

I'm curious why the "tech" who installed the new drive didn't just Clone the old one to the new one?

Old drive died :( He couldn't read it. Thankfully I had saved my files to external drive.

i am assuming you mean the message view window.
in your second picture 'Thunderbird Screenshot' you will see in the top right corner, directly under the close button
a little icon that looks like an old film reel, click on that and you can change the view from 'card view'
to the old type 'table view' .. i hope that is what you mean and are looking for.

hope this helps, best of luck. Steve .

THANK YOU!! That fixed it! AND I have Win 11 back after much talking with Techie Google :) Now I need to figure out how to get it to IMAP not POP. I've used IMAP for decades. And sadly I lost my profile with so many saved messages. I don't think I copied it correctly

Thunderbird normally sets up email accounts as IMAP by default .. you would have to configure the account manually for POP ..

hope this helps, best of luck. Steve ..

My verizon acct (now AOL) was set a pop but I got the settings from another computer and it works as IMAP now. I had to use a 3rd party uninstaller to remove all the TB installations and installed version 115.xxx. Looks so much better! Now on to deleting hundreds of emails.

Yes did much research. I had to use a 3rd party uninstaller to remove them. TY
