My phone's Wi-Fi uses the same ISP as my PC's, indeed.

No, I put it to hide my IP.
There is no IP to hide in case you didn't know, your IP is in the private non-routable IP so even if someone had it, it would not be usable outside their own LAN. https://whatismyipaddress.com/private-ip

So hiding the names would be something to hide but there is no point to hide the same numbers other people use as the only real IP you have is at the router's WAN port, not the LAN. So any IPs that start with 192.168.x.x, 10.0.0.x are not routable and only good for the person using it. Masking out the IP's when someone asks for traceroute data is also not good because until people can see the IP's of the public IP's, it is useless data since it's like you have he.net which is Hurricane Electric but you make the IP as X.X.X.X, it's not even your own IP in the first place but one of the networks you are going through and when you mask it out, it's the same thing as not providing the information.

I know this is OT but after changing the router's DNS to Cloudfare's, I still have to manually set it on many devices. What's the point of doing the former, then?
You are doing it incorrectly. The router's setting is for the router and any clients/devices that choose to use it. On the devices themselves, you have two options, one is to get the DNS information automatically by DHCP and the other option is to set it manually which allows you to use something other than what the router is sending, the last one is what you did. If you did the former, then you would never have to set the DNS as it would be whatever the router sends.

Sorry, I thought I read you installed it on Windows and not that it already come integrated with the router. My router has a firewall. How can I know its brand?
Look on the bottom or back of the router, there is always a brand and model number, also make sure you are on the latest firmware on the router and your router itself is not blocking sites since basically your problem is your device is called point A and 1fichier is point B, anything between the two points can cause the issue.

In my case, it doesn't state. The firewall was automatically enabled. Also, I've never updated the router since I don't know how to and if it's really needed.
Routers are computers and the firmware is software so if there is a update, it's there for a reason.

As mentioned above, the firewall is there for a reason, don’t disable it. Extra software like ”Trend Micro” (which is pretty much a given with Asus routers) is separate again. Also, as @Almighty1 said, Firmware updates are important.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned and tried, I just woke up and I can hardly see to read everything.

Also, if that doesn’t work, I would be creating a ticket at your ISP. Just ask them if they could investigate. At one point this year I couldn’t connect to any site that had to go through cloudflare. It was driving me insane so I brought it up with my ISP (Aussie Broadband) and it turned out it was due to some setting they had related to the service. 5 seconds and it was fixed. You never know.

Another thought is have you tried asking on local forums if other people who use the same ISP as you are having problems with 1fichier.com or not which will atleast give you more data to see if the problem is your LAN only or if it's the ISP in general. For issues like this, you are better off on sites like dslreports.com.

With all, the Asus routers I have used, the operator needs to enable Trend Micro, it’s disabled in the settings by default. I was looking at that AX92u but I need a DSL input.

What names are you talking about? The IPs didn't start with "192" or "10" but with "20" and they had letters. I think they're IPv6 ones. So, I should only mask the external IP address which some sites reveal? Anyway, you want me to show you the IP addresses that show up after running those CMD commands? Will it make any difference in fixing this issue?

You are doing it incorrectly. The router's setting is for the router and any clients/devices that choose to use it. On the devices themselves, you have two options, one is to get the DNS information automatically by DHCP and the other option is to set it manually which allows you to use something other than what the router is sending, the last one is what you did. If you did the former, then you would never have to set the DNS as it would be whatever the router sends.

I set the DNS on the router, all devices use this router, I didn't choose the option to manually set DNS on the devices and I still have to manually set it on some of them since they still can't access some sites. Also, it looks like IPv6's DNS can't be set in this router, only IPv4's. Perhaps the devices only use IPv6 and not IPv4 and so it doesn't work?

Look on the bottom or back of the router, there is always a brand and model number, also make sure you are on the latest firmware on the router and your router itself is not blocking sites since basically your problem is your device is called point A and 1fichier is point B, anything between the two points can cause the issue.

I don't know how to update it since I can't even find an option to do it. I already reset it and it still blocks sites. Does the ONT need to be updated, as well? Is there a way of accessing its settings, just like with the router?

I don't know if it's right to make that question and I doubt the person answering would know.

Another thought is have you tried asking on local forums if other people who use the same ISP as you are having problems with 1fichier.com or not which will atleast give you more data to see if the problem is your LAN only or if it's the ISP in general. I recall doing that and I did it but I'm still waiting for answers. It looks like users from other european countries are having problems with this site, at least. Does that site mention portuguese ISPs?

You ISP (if they are) shouldn’t be blocking that site. Sure, it is used for non ethical reasons but it is also a legitimate file storage/sharing site. But if they are blocking it, a VPN should have bypassed the block.
The ONT is controlled by the Fiber company, they would update the firmware remotely but I don’t know that ONT hardware connected to property has firmware
You mentioned you can access the site from a mobile device? Send a ticket to 1ficheir via your mobile device.

    …still on a horse.

I set the DNS on the router, all devices use this router, I didn't choose the option to manually set DNS on the devices and I still have to manually set it on some of them since they still can't access some sites. Also, it looks like IPv6's DNS can't be set in this router, only IPv4's. Perhaps the devices only use IPv6 and not IPv4 and so it doesn't work?

I already knew the router's brand and model and that it (or the ISP) blocks sites but I don't know how to update it.

How can I know if there's an update?

I don't know how to update it since I can't even find an option to do it. I already reset it and it still blocks sites. Does the ONT need to be updated, as well? Is there a way of accessing its settings, just like with the router?

I don't know if it's right to make that question and I doubt the person answering would know.

I recall doing that and I did it but I'm still waiting for answers. It looks like users from other european countries are having problems with this site, at least. Does that site mention portuguese ISPs?
The verbal names and IP numbers for the traceroutes in general. It's fine to hide names that are on your LAN side of the equation but if you look at your entire traceroute output, there is not one single IP address from the start to the end, everything is X:X:X:X but in this case, some of the routers are blocking icmp requests as you can see even in my traceroute and I have all the addresses visible, you will still not be able to reach my computer using the information:

Even hop #1 is already on my ISPs side.

There had been times when ipv6 is broken as setting up ipv4 is a given but ipv6 needs to supported by the ISP and unless you had access to the router, you wouldn't be able to setup the IPv6 or the ipv4 either. I mean what's the make and model of your router and the ONT as that would be a start. Well, the site(s) whether they mention Portuguese ISPs or not is not the issue, the issue is they have people who have more knowledge about how things like this work more than people on this site would because they have specific forums for each ISP among other things and even hardware manufacturers and that is usually where people talk about connectivity so it's more dedicated for connectivity that has existed since 1999 as their slogan is "DSLReports is the web's oldest and largest broadband and internet connectivity community. We report on ISP news, provide user connectivity diagnostic tools, ISP reviews, user-user support forums and user-ISP support forums.". This site is more for OS support than internet connectivity. The ONT is something similar to a Cable Modem or DSL Modem in that it only carries the signal and does not do any type of blocking or mapping, the router should be what you should be concerned about and this is only if you confirmed with other people like friends who use the same ISP in the same area or city that they do not have problems with 1fichier.com. If they do, then other than switching ISPs to one that works, you wouldn't be able to solve the issue without using a VPN. The other question is, is there a reason you can't use another site other than 1fichier or is it because the file(s) you want is only on 1fichier for download?

This is what a ipv4 traceroute looks like, the -4 means ipv4 and -6 means ipv6:

After reading everything on the thread, and if you have tried @Almighty1 ’s suggestions, the only remaining advice I could give you is

  • A. Update/check the firmware for your router. To help you with this we need to know what it is, but it is generally in the advanced/administrator section of a router and there should be a check and an update option.
  • B. Try Torbrowser.

What is the brand and model number of your router? If `i know that `i can tell you how to check/update your firmware

Technicolor TG789vac v2. The web interface is in portuguese but I can change it to english. I can't find a setting to update it, which is odd. On the powerline I connected it to, I can, so I thought the process would be more or less the same, even if the web interfaces are different.

I can't find a setting to update it. The main web page shows the model right away (Technicolor TG789vac v2). What about the ONT? Should it be updated as well (if possible)? I tried Tor some years ago but it was slow. Also, is it possible for someone to get my identity even if using a VPN or Tor? Maybe state-sponsored hackers or other high level hackers? I always hear using VPN keeps the identity hidden but I doubt it.

Yes, I guess so. If using a VPN, I don't have this issue but I don't want to use one every time I access it (or other sites) and I guess I'd have to pay one if I wanted a permanent solution so I don't know what to do. I don't get it why they don't block all file storage/sharing sites, then.

How can I know if it has firmware? Can't the ONT's settings be accessed by a browser just like the router's? If the ONT has firmware, I shouldn't worry about updating it since the ISP should do it remotely?

Sorry, what do you mean by "ticket"? Via mobile device using Wi-Fi or mobile network?

Was the router also provided by the ISP because it seems like the router you are using Technicolor which is basically known as Cisco and Scientific Atlanta before that is something that is supplied only by ISPs and used for both ADSL2+/VDSL2 and also FTTH connections. The ONT is nothing more than a bridge that takes the raw signal and does not have anything to do with IP routing as the router is the first thing that actually communicates at the IP level. Well, if someone had access to the VPN database, they would ofcourse get your information. VPN's all have overhead and it depends on what the max speeds are for that VPN as you will never get the same high speeds as you will without using a VPN.

What do you mean by "verbal names"? Now that you mentioned it, a name showed up and I think it was my network's. Are you talking about it?

How can I know my ONT's maker? So, even if other users have the same ISP as I do, they may not have blocks if they're from another city or region? Many files I download are only on 1fichier.

I mean unless you really need to use 1fichier, then you can use other sites instead. As for the ONT, you know the ONT is similar to a modem, all it does is take the raw signal and then output it to the router which is the first device that actually handles any data. The ONT itself does not do any routing or anything related to IP as all it does is take the fiber signal and converts it to the Ethernet signal that your router understands and from the looks of it, your router also is also ISP provided which means you are limited to what you can do including changing the configuration and even the software among other things. The only way you can even use your own router is if you had access to change the Technicolor to run in bridge mode which means it will just take the input signal and send it out without doing any IP routing or firewall and then the router you put behind it on your own will actually be doing the routing.

Yes, I only use ISP routers. Then I don't get why it's always said VPN keeps the identity hidden. Sorry, I don't get what the VPN's speed has to do with getting my identity.
