I used the method in this website (link at the bottom) to enable built-in admin account in Windows 11. When I tried to disable it using the method mentioned in the same website (change the value of 00000038 in first row from 11 to 10), it didn't work. Since I had access to built-in admin account, I used the command "net user administrator /active:no" in the cmd of built-in admin account to disable the same and it worked. When I tried to re enable the built in admin by using the same method mentioned in the website ( by changing 10 to 11), the admin account is not enabled. When I went back to cmd at boot and checked the value, it shows 10 and not 11. Now I am stuck without admin privileges. By the way, I am trying to enable built in admin because I hid my admin account using regedit and now though I know the password I cant access the account to enter the password. Please help

Maybe you did not unload hive after you have made the changes.

In this video, you will find detailed instructions on how to enable the hidden administrator account on Windows 11,10, 8, 7 or Vista based computer, by modifying the Windows Registry Offline in case you cannot login to Windows by using another account with admin rights.

You are right. I don't know that I should unload the hive at last. But the temp file I created then is now not showing under the HKEY_LOCALMACHINE. I could see only the SAM folder. Please help

From 1:05 to 4:30 is exactly what you need to do. its not showing in your screenshot because you havent loaded the hive. once you do and make the changes, unload the hive as shown. then reboot windows.

@FreeBooter As mentioned earlier, I hid my local admin account using regedit and I couldn't access admin privileges in standard account as there is no option to enter password to access admin privileges from a standard account. If I could enable the built-in admin account (which wont need a password) I would be able to access regedit and delete the string I created in regedit so that my local admin account appears on the list of accounts in the sign in page. Is there any other alternatives?
I used the method mentioned in this site to hide my local admin: How to remove user account from windows logon screen - Microsoft Q&A

Would Resetting the pc with keeping files solve this issue?

before resetting:

  • Boot your computer to Windows RE (like you did before)
  • When the Windows Setup screen appears, press Shift + F10 to open the command prompt.
  • In the CMD window, run the commands below one after the other (hit Enter on each line) to replace the utilman.exe file with the cmd.exe file.
Code:
move c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe c:\

Code:
copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe
  • restart the computer.
  • When you reach the Windows sign-in screen, click the Ease of Access icon in the lower right corner of the screen. This will open a command prompt if the previous steps went right.
now unhide the administrator account

I think I did it. It shows like this.

You need to load the SAM from the C: drive, as shown in the video. The SAM on the X: drive is in use; that is the Windows PE/RE version of the SAM, and it's currently loaded.
