Upgrading Win 11 Laptop to Win 10 :)

I'm buying a new laptop that will come with Win 11 on it. I want to install Win 10 on it and use that until end of support for 10.

2 questions I have:

Can anyone recommend somewhere to purchase a legitimate Win 10 license for it, or can I use the Win 11 product key for that install?

Next, once 10 goes end of support, I plan on putting it back to Win 11. Is there anything I need to save from the original Win 11 installation to make it easier to go back to 11?

In case it makes any difference, it is a 2023 Dell Inspiron 3535

Did you check with Dell? Is it possible for Dell to deliver it with Windows 10 installed?

1) Make a free or pay backup image and save to another drive or the cloud

(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)



2) Clean install Windows 10 using a free Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MCT)

There is no difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11 as far as product keys or digital licences are concerned.
They are all valid for Windows 10/11.

As zbook says, if you make a system image of its Windows 11 you could just restore that later.

But if you want to keep your software and user files by upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, then you may want to back up the drivers from its currently installed Windows 11. You probably won't need them, but it's best to be safe.
