Only my main PC was affected, with none of my other devices at home.

Man, i thought it was everything from a bad windows update, adaptor setting, fried network card (which somehow only affected upload), router issue, even Unifi AP settings, and even physical network cable to almost give up then find it was this janky Killer Prioritisation Engine...

Just hope that Killer Networks either explain or test their releases next time... throttling to like 0.1Mbps is just insane in this day & age.

Killer Networks which is a product name of the company Rivet Networks no longer exists as Intel bought them out over 3 years ago and they do not explain or test their releases in the way we want.

I'm not really sure what package I'm on. All I know is that it's fast enough for what I do and when I run SpeedTest I get good numbers. I simply put Xfinity on autopay and forget about it.

When they do the mid-split, there will be 200Mbps upload speeds on both the 800Mbps and 1.2Gbps packages but it requires renting their modem but you also get unlimited bandwidth. Normally, the complain is the upstream is too small, not the downstream as when you download, unless the upload pipe is big enough as for everything received, an ACKnowledgement packet gets sent back so if the up side is full, it will slow down your downloads which is where packet shaping comes in. I would greatly take 200Mbps/200Mbps over 1.44Gbps/42Mbps any day of the week as it's better to be symmetrical than assymmetrical. If I was abou 500 feet closer, I would be on a 1Gbps/1Gbps connection that is unlimited for 60% what Xfinity charges or pay $10 more for 10Gbps/10Gbps. What package you have still depends on the limitations of the modem. Unless you have the Motorola MB8610, Arris S33 which has 2.5Gbps ethernet ports, the download will never exceed the ethernet limitation of 940Mbps on a 1Gbps port. I was only commenting because you said in Atlanta, you said Comcast offers a maximum of 24Mbps upload when I know others in ATL with 42Mbps upload and either doing 1.2Gbps on Gigabit 1Gbps package or 1.44Gbps on the Gigabit Extra 1.2Gbps package.

On paper, it caps your bandwidth to prioritize it for other things (as if it knows where to give the most bandwidth to!!) which is not even needed at this day and age with people having fast internet. Maybe this feature was useful back in the 56kbps modem days.

Press Win + R to pull up the Run Dialogue Box
type services.msc then hit ENTER
look for all KILLER related services, double click on each one and set it to DISABLED

In your start menu also, type Killer and uninstall the KILLER Control Center

Reboot and watch your internet com back to life!

PS: this is the number one problem we get in our support help desk and on Reddit forums. KILLER should be killed for good!

For whatever reason, Killer Intelligence Center was installed on Oct 17 on my Dell Aurora R8, and it killed my upload speed. I was only getting like 0.1MBps upload! I searched and searched until I found this thread. Thanks @Spartan for the tip, and the rest of you guys who posted. I uninstalled all Killer apps and now my upload speed is back to where it should be.
