More info, the Soloidworks drive (J) says CDFS:

ISO 9660, also referred to as CDFS (Compact Disc File System) by some hardware and software providers, is a file system standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for optical disc media.

The Office Drive (K) says UDF:

Universal Disk Format (UDF) is an open, vendor-neutral file system for computer data storage for a broad range of media. In practice, it has been most widely used for DVDs and newer optical disc formats, supplanting ISO 9660

Did you try the instructions that @glasskuter posted in post #25? You need to use the sldIM\sldIM.exe file. If that doesn't work it could be that the files are corrupted or your security program could be blocking it. From my understanding the DVD devices only shows after you click on the original file. What is the original file stored on?

Anyway, the bottom line is, you’re mounting ISO images (Solid/Office) and that creates the DVD drive you see.

As per the error in your first post, Windows is not letting you access the Mounted ISO.
I don’t know how to fix that, someone else might.

Where did you get Solidworks and Office from? It would seem odd that they are ISO/Image files.
Perhaps your security is preventing it, if so, I’d be interested to know why.
Are these legitimately owned softwares?
"Are these legitimately owned softwares?"

During covid my cousin gave me these, he's a "computer" guy. He installed them remotely during covid for me. The office version has "genuine" wrote on it... so I just assumed they where genuine. Like I said they did install before on this PC but now not.

My hard dive recently failed and I got new hard drives, CPU, Windows version etc... could that be a problem. Could things be corrupted?

Anyway, I'll try your latest suggestion after work.

Also, Eamonn, do this for me to see if there is the same error from post one.
Also try with the Office Drive on the left, as follows.

I just tried this and got the same problem... I think it's time to accept defeat.

  • I’d still like to see the folders that the original files are in, before you click on them and Mount them to make them a “DVD Drive”.
  • Also, please show me the instructions your cousin gave you to run/mount these programs. They are ISO/Image files.
  • Eject the drives by right clicking on them and selecting “Eject” then mount them again.
During covid my cousin gave me these, he's a "computer" guy. He installed them remotely during covid for me. The office version has "genuine" wrote on it... so I just assumed they where genuine.

Sorry to tell you, but you don’t own or have a license for this software as you didn’t purchase them. Therefore I am assuming that you or it has to bypass licence requirements to run them which means these are not legitimate.
As a result, your antivirus or Windows security is most likely/possibly preventing the installation of all three softwares you mentioned due to some kind of activation method which is possibly included. Unless you can say you bought licences for these?
Perhaps you should get your cousin to remotely help you out.
This forum doesn't support illegitimate program installations.
