Hello All,

All of a sudden I am getting this message when I try to access some discussion forums I visit. It's just started happening today and I've never seen it before. It effects some groups and some it does not. I'm using Edge 135 on Win11 24H2 Build 26100.3775. I've run a Defender scan, SAS, and Malwarebytes scan, but it keeps happening. When I open the forum with Edge it happens but if I enter the URL directly it does not and I get to the appropriate forum.

Any suggestions?

OK. Just tested that. It only happens when I use an Edge shortcut. But not on ALL Edge shortcuts. Some work fine, on two I get the verticalscope popup.

Confusing!! I thought you indicated it didn't happen on other shortcuts? Are you now saying it is happening on those shortcuts on which it didn't happen, now that the previously offending shortcuts have been deleted??

How are you creating shortcuts?

Have you checked the properties of the shortcuts to verify the shortcut path?

EDIT
Are the shortcuts just to open Edge, or shortcuts to web sites (directly)?

I first deleted the original shortcut and then created a new one to the same site. This is all in Edge BTW. It still happens on the newly created shortcut to the same site. There are other shortcuts (also Edge) to other sites that it does not happen on.

To create a shortcut in first I first go to that site directly by typing in the URL. Once it comes up I then move the URL to my desktop or a folder that has similar sites in it.

The shortcuts are to the site directly.

I went through a couple of process that you all suggested and while I can't exactly determine which one did the trick but it seems that that issue has been resolved. No more verticalscope popup.
