For starters, I feel Edge sits on the bottom of the browser totem pole. It's bloated and heavy on resources the moment you install Windows. It has Edgeview which always running and can't be disabled. Microsoft's missionaries argue it's an essential component to Windows, blah, blah, blah.
Microsoft's acolytes, much like anti-vaxxers, will never see anything wrong with this browser. Edge is forced upon the user one way or another.
Many people prefer Edge because it's "just there" and they don't have to do anything special to it. Edge is convenient. However, for me, the Windows 11 widgets and the tight integration of Edge is nasty and full of adware that even the best adblocker can't stop.
Unlike other Chromium based browsers, Edge has had more than a few instances where malicious extensions were downloaded from the
Microsoft Edge store.
It's ironic. Many folks are so gung-ho about their privacy, but they continue to subscribe to applications like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Edge, just to name a few.
