Guys,
Dell Laptop Windows 11 In place upgrade from Windows 10 - performed about 12 months ago - no issues.
I am a big user of Teamviewer.
The other morning came in and found my laptop was shutdown - overnight a windows update event had happened
The machine started fine and let me log in no problems - all my apps working as per normal
Went to use Teamviewer (32-bit) version which is a full install on this machine and when i opened the app it had the rotating circle telling me to wait whilst it started - after 1/2 hour nothing had progressed.
Manually checked Windows updates and there were no updates available in the main channel
Figured as all other apps were apparently working OK that it was a teamviewer issue so tried to uninstall - would not do so - followed through various help articles from them until i got it removed (involved registry edits and deleting some files etc)
Downloaded the 64-bit version adn tried to install it - hangs at the 2nd stage of creating directories/Files in the Temp Folder and prcoeeds no further
So did some more research and people indicated that may be a windows issue - so rebooted and then tried Sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt
Came back with errors re Found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
Ran DISM then with cleanup-image and restore health and pointed its source as the latest Windows 11 ISO image from MS
Ran to completion but did not resolve the teamviewer issue
Read a few reports that may need to complete that cycle a few times so went through a total of 5 times and still no change. (SFC and then DISM)
Then using the latest Windows 11 ISO downloaded from MS attempted to do an inplace repair - whilst keeping all my files and apps - this runs through and hangs at 31% each time - left it the first time overnight - no progress
The machine has a Samsung NMVE 980 Pro 2TB drive in it that is less than 12 months old and shows no errors in the Samsung software (FWIW)
I am running AVG Internet Security
Attached is the CBS.log file after the last run
