The Windows 11 upgrade rollout plan is still being finalized but is scheduled to begin late in 2021 and continue into 2022. Specific timing will vary by device.

If you’d like to see if your current PC meets the minimum requirements, download and run the PC Health Check app.

It’s free to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. But only Windows 10 PCs that are running the most current version of Windows 10 and meet the minimum hardware specifications will be able to upgrade. You can check to see if you have the latest updates for Windows 10 in Settings/Windows Update. The free upgrade offer does not have a specific end date for eligible systems. However, Microsoft reserves the right to eventually end support for the free offer. This end date will be no sooner than one year from general availability.

Something else cool I know I'll appreciate with Windows 11.
I use two monitors, and an Nvidia graphics card.
How many of you multi monitor uses hate it when Nvidia updates graphics drivers and during the update your drivers disconnect and reconnect, and you find your open windows and apps(like Afterburner or sticky notes) all moved to your primary monitor when the drivers reconnect you monitors to Windows?
Eleven is suppose to fix that crap.

Lol yeah. Same - nVidia GTX 970 and dual monitors (normally a pair of 1080p monitors, but right now testing a 4K).

That feature is actually one that I am kinda excited about -0 the minimize the windows that were on another display. It's *technically* more designed in mind for those who use external monitors for devices with internal displays (laptops, tablets, etc.) but I see no reason why it should not work for desktops with multiple monitors as well.

Only concern I have is that it may not work fully as this would be a difference than removing an external display, as the entire driver is wiped and a default driver is used as the nVidia driver is updated. Time will tell.

I certainly hope it works.

or it is a decision that its completely arbitrary, and has 0 to do with economics - because TPM 2.0 became an ISO supported standard in 2016, and they could very well have picked an arbitrary date of Oct 2017 as the cutoff for CPU support.

I know that, but the fact Microsoft did that makes me sick. I already have windows 11 installed on VMware machine.

An average user with Intel core 7th gen may consider buying a new PC because of this policy!
