Impressive and would keep you warm in winter! BTW the Soviet Union continued to invest in valve technology which is radiation hard.

Yes, EMP resistant too. BTW, valve technology is still alive and used. High power radio transmitters still use them for for finals to antenna, no transistor can be used for kilowatts strong transmitters. Home amplifiers with tubes are still made and cost a lot, they say it produces warm sound.

Greetings, all

I'm new to this forum as my last laptop succumbed to a fall thanks to my cat.

I have a new Dell G5 with W11Pro on the way and I'm what might be called curious but not very knowledgeable. My hope is that when the new machine arrives I'll be able to quickly and easily dispense with bloat and nag ware that comes on new machines.

I recognize a few folks from the 7 and 10 forums and in all likelihood will read much more than I post.
