What are good PDF editors, besides Adobe Acrobat Pro?

This is a PDF supplied by someone else so I couldn't recreate it from scratch if I understand what you are saying since there would be no point for a PDF editor if one was doing it from scratch anyways.

Adobe Acrobat then, Acrobat still - Acrobat 2020 Pro (Perpetual license).

I got the Student / Teacher edition for $109 (now $149) a few years back. Will require a verifiable .edu school email address as that's where your registration key will be sent. And NO, once your student status changes, the item doesn't deactivate. Nor is it tied to your institution. Zero issues with Windows 11.

The feature I mentioned above for PDF Editing to resize the area so it will fit everything in one line is a feature that Nitro and Wondershare PDF Element has that PDF Gear does not have as this is PDF Gear's response:
"PDFgear for Windows currently doesn't support resizing the blocks you mentioned. "

I have ditched Microsoft Office for the completely free OnlyOffice (Desktop Editors version). It includes a very good PDF viewer / editor.
OnlyOffice defaults to opening and saving as standard Microsoft formats so no fighting with LibreOffice to make things save as a docx or xmls. It also has better looking graphs than LibreOffice. I purposely do not want cloud based anything hence the choice to go with the lighter Desktop Editor version. It opens everything that I have ever created in Microsoft Office so zero reason to go back. It also allowed me to ditch PDFGear which was previously what I used to edit PDFs (mainly filling in PDF forms) and SumatraPDF as a PDF reader.
What's more, it is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and IOS.
Not sure why OnlyOffice doesn't rate on this forum but LibreOffice and others do?

Berton, I wasn't saying it hasn't been mentioned on this forum but it doesn't really rate too many mentions considering it is a very polished Office suite compared to the usual pundits like WPS, Free Office, LibreOffice, SoftMaker etc. All of which I have tried and rejected for various reasons. Of course, different people have different needs from their Office suites and as I stated, I want to stay well and truly "off-cloud". The online version of OnlyOffice might suit people who like being cloud based.
I have a very eclectic and pragmatic collection of software that serves my needs and have no bias towards Microsoft or otherwise - if it does the job that I need it to do without stealing my data and on-selling it, pushing advertising down my throat or pushing me into a subscription model or nagging/begging, then it passes the 1st test.

Edwin, probably a translation issue between brain and keyboard... I do have an unwelcome excuse for that having recently experienced a massive brain haemorrhage that left me with some difficulty choosing words and putting them down in some resemblance of order. Not much different to speaking a foreign language that Google translates poorly.

Okular is an open source PDF reader that has the ability to edit as well.

here is the Okular manual.

hope this is of help. best of luck. Steve ..
This works perfectly for limited pdf editing -- and is free.

latest version :

You need to run it on Linux -- but if you use a Linux VM or the WSL from Windows --problem solved. Basic editing such as annotation, adding text etc available,

It depends on what you need to do of course to the PDF file.

Cheers

Thanks.

They are supposed to be the same. On Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, atleast the last 3 versions, it will work fine as tabs but either dragging the second one down or doing the horizontally or vertically will just end up with the process exiting on it's own. The non-DC reader worked fine before DC came out. Was trying to compare Evidence of Coverage for insurance plans the other day and had to basically use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for one PDF and Nitro PDF Pro for the other one.
