I finally beat Commander Niall in Elden Ring!!!

Perfect RED game. Druids Glen Golf Club... birdied or eagled every hole.

There's a free give away on GOG.com called: The First Templar
It says it has controller support... but doesn't "see" my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick.

Controller tech support FAQs... I submitted a ticket also.

1. Game let me install anywhere.
2. Installer installs DirectX 9.0
3. Other than my joystick not seen... no problems at all installing or running the game.
4. Looks like decent... 2008 grfx.
5. Runs full screen and Alt + Tab works to switch between game and desktop.

Here's the original manual, before GOG supposedly added controller support...

I've recently used the Steam sale to get a Steam (and thus optimized) version of The Saboteur for $5 and have started playing that again. It's cheeky, but still nostalgic. 15 years later, and graphics notwithstanding, I had forgotten how fun this game was.

I just reinstalled Unreal Gold. I must admit, I used the cheat codes to get the awesome Flak Cannon.
Any gun that shoots raw chunks of metal is a great gun in my book.

Well, I haven't actually installed and played it yet.

The only decent newer game I've found is Tower of Time

Great RPG and much better grfx than the old days. I've played this game... twice so far.
It's sort of half sci-fi and half fantasy. They definitely put a lot of work went into this game.

It has a wholly new battle system, which I won't spoil for anyone.

TIP: If you do get any games from GOG.c*m, get the "Offline Installer" and the Manual if available for DL.

GOG has a client called GOG Galaxy. I don't like clients, so I don't use it.

I don't and never did have STEAM or Epic, or any game client.

Obviously, I'm a more discerning gamer.

I got the game for free on one of GOG's give-aways.

I liked the game because it was... different.
Most games are just the same old games, with new art and new story.

That too.
After playing Diablo II for 14 years, about 14 hours a day, without hacks or mods... I kind of got burnt out on games that required mouse finger dexterity.

I then tried puzzle games like Myst, etc., and some of the puzzles don't really have any logical way to solve them.

Then I tried FPS games and some were OK. But mostly, they were just more hack and slash, but with guns.
Also, I truly hate WASD controls.

Games should all have joystick controls or... mouse for movement, and left hand for spells, skills, potions, guns... etc.
Which is the way our fore fathers intended.

I'd like to see Unreal Gold redone for modern computers. Not changed, just better grfx, etc.

And sims these days are just too much. Like flying games where 90% of the keyboard is needed.
That's just nuts. It takes all the "fun" out of a game.
The only skill in those games is being able to type. Has nothing to do with being able to fly. LOL

That's why I really like that old off road racing game: 4x4 EVO. It was fun, it's still fun.
I don't want crash damage in a driving game. I don't want to have to race to repair my vehicle.
I don't want to have to: "drive within the lines".

Here's 4x4 EVO (note the speedometer). This may look easy but it takes serious skill.
The driving physics (except for damage), is highly accurate.
Granted... it could definitely do with a grfx upgrade.

I must have driven this track (which I made with the editor, btw), 100's of times before I got a video with no... mistakes.

Here's my best vehicle, before and after I souped it up, with a ton of extra parts (bought with money from races).

Here's the parts I needed. "1" is installed, "0" is not installed...
Every part has a detailed description. It describes the benefits and the draw backs for each part.
It took me "years" to figure out all the parts.

If anyone "thinks" they're good enough... Give it a try.

Works on XP to W11. Directions in the README.txt

I included my souped up Chevy Race SUV, and my hotlaps so you can "try" to beat my times. ^^
TIP: This is a driving game where you "need" to use the "cockpit view" when racing.
Joystick or driving wheel, pretty much necessary. Controller... I dunno.
You won't stand a chance, otherwise.

Just installed, again... Baldur's Gate II.
Ofc, I'm using the cheat codes, and the best sword ever made...

Black Isle / Bioware, made this sword to use when debugging the game. It's pretty much a one hit kill for anything.

I'm bummed out.

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow of Amn is OK. The Throne of Baal and the Black Pits II is junk.
Once you finish Shadows of Amn... you get locked into Throne of Baal, with no world map.
You have no control over where you go, etc.

I really hate when games do that.
