Where is Windows 24H2

Hi there. I have a home built Windows computer. I have never seen 24H2 in the windows update screen. I have pretty generic components. Anyone see why I can't get the update through "windows update."

Welcome to ElevenForum.

You have three choices.
1. Wait for MS's phased rollout to get to you via Windows Update.
2. Upgrade to 24H2 yourself.
3. Do a clean install of 24H2.

Here's some other things that you may find useful...

I am in the same boat as you. Apparently, it is said, there is a problem with some ASUS mb and Microsoft. They are working on a solution so it might be a while before there is a resolution.

I'm running an X570 ASUS motherboard.

Your System One motherboard is fairly old. You might want to wait a bit on that board?

I have 24H2 on one out of my three supported devices, none of them have seen it offered yet. On one I did persuade it to get it through Windows Update, but not by waiting for it to be offered. This is how I did it.

But to be perfectly honest, having seen and tried it, 24H2 has too many bugs at the moment. I'd advise waiting for it to be rolled out to you, that's what I'm doing for the other two.

I found an interesting "blurb" on how some (at least mine) machines have a block that won't allow updating to 24H2 until MS removes said block.
So it seems that there is a lot of potential blocks that need to be rectified in order to update.

However, I hear that 23H2 is supported until late next year so I'll wait patiently...

Thank you, both for the link to the blog, and for bringing the GatedBlockID to my attention. Until now my main reason for looking there had been for the RedReason on unsupported devices.
